How do I start the refer a friend quest?
I'm new to the game and my friend and I are doing the refer a friend quest. We linked up with each other and this website is telling me to visit Speaker, but when I go to him he just asks me to use a Spark of Light. It says that once I use it I'll become level 25, but I kind of just wanted to get there on my own. Do I have to use the Spark of Light to start the quest?

UPDATE: I made it to level 25 and beat the first Taken King mission, but the quest still isn't unlocked. I guess it really is discontinued. Oh well, thanks for the responses everyone.

2 RepliesFirst, what you have to do is remove your friend from the friends list. Then, you need to find the speaker, talk to him, and he will give you a quest to go to this website, and create an LFG (Looking For Group) post, saying exactly this: "Need 1 for Refer-a-friend quest, must be 400 with Max Grimoir and all Raid exotics, 2.0 kd+, Know what you're doing, have Refer-a-Friend emblem." Once you find a random, invite them to your fireteam, and it will give you the quest reward: [spoiler]an empty feeling inside[/spoiler]

You have to be level 25 . You don't have to use the spark, but it's an easy way to get there.

I would just look for a video guide on YouTube, enjoy destiny :) ignore this lot on here they just grumpy old trolls !! Lol ... ok you lot back in your pens until the destiny 2 noobs get here !! Lol

1 ReplySo the refer a friend quest was added with the taken king expansion and that expansion was designed for new players to enter at level 25. Play to 25 and the quest should unlock. The spark of light is a level booster that you are not required to use.
