*A Wild Gringo has appeared*
So I was playing Halo 3 on the pvp map Sandtrap recently and I realized something. On Sandbox instead of having the usual hard/soft kill barriers to kill players who leave the map, Sandtrap has towers surrounding it that will zap and kill anything that tries to leave. Many Halo maps from 3 have this design with a more creative method of keeping people in bounds. It is small but it shows how much love went into the game. This design has all but disappeared, including from almost all new Halo games.
I think some Destiny 2 maps, if not on release than in expansions, should have creative methods of killing players who leave boundaries. Imagine mortar shells raining down on people who try to flee a cabal map or an impenetrable detainment shield killing those who try and leave a Vex map.
I am not saying "include this or I cancel my preorder", however I do feel it is a small, fun addition to the game that makes it all the more enjoyable.
Thanks for reading and if you liked the idea, upvote this post for the chance for Bungie to see it.

I'm struggling with how a mechanic designed to kill you for playing bad is a good addition to any game.

Edited by Never Joeverdeliver: 8/17/2017 3:17:20 AMActually, it was Sandbox that had the towers that shot rockets. Sandtrap was the map with the landmines.

Ok, Deej himself will tell you to turn back and count down from 4 until you die. Then once you die, he does his signature dance and says, "Deej, out." I can only dream.

I simply can't gush enough about how good H3 is in every way. Its only curse is being irrelevant.

I loved that map. It was a true three layer map with a "dungeon" and a skybox where one could create additional places to play. I remember having to go into the forge to create a "tunnel" into the out of bounds area to be able to get one of the Skulls. We later took that tunnel and modified into it's own map wholly in the out of bounds area. This meant we would have to play the entire match inside tunnels because if you went outside (or stood too long near an opening) then you would be killed by a tower. Made for a lot of fun close up matches. The more I think about it, Destiny needs a forge to be added some time (though probably never in Luke Smith's lifetime).

One problem with that was several glitches were possible to do cool forge stuff/cheat. That ultimately made the game more fun, but unintended use of games is something developers love to avoid
