It will "go down in history", not for being a great game.

This isn't me being a prick, I fully agree with SkillUp and his "brilliant mess of a game" video. Destiny is a never before done business model and game model, which has largely worked - and I think this will be discussed further. I think, however, that the politics and behind the scenes changes to Bungie and ultimately the game they envisaged will be the part that goes in the history books. Whether true or not. It overshadowed what, to me, is a solid cooperative game. Alright, it's a bit thin on the content when you compare it to the sources of its inspiration, but it had enough to keep millions of people busy with things to do for 3 years, and that's a great accomplishment. Did it deserve to be pilloried in the reviews? Yes. Did it deserve a second review once the end game content was released and fully explored? Yes. Would it have changed the scores? Yes, most certainly. Unfortunately the "damage" had been done and Destiny, for all the financial success, probably never recovered. I'm hoping that Destiny 2, with a more focused team and Bungie will be (at least) what we expected from the hyperbole of Destiny 1's pre release. And I'm hoping there'll be some honest reviews on bnet and Reddit (without the huge emotional attachment) that will inform people like me that won't be getting the game on release, but will be waiting for said reviews. Hope this answer is more clear for you? Stay safe, Guardian. ☮️
