Depends how you look at it. Looking at sales and number of players then yea sure it can be considered a good game. Looking at the actual gameplay experience it can be considered a decent game that has it's pros and cons. Will it go down in the history books? Yes, but not for how it plays, but for the innovation of merging different genres into one game (the first MMOFPSRPG) The issue here is that any sequel to D1 can end up being worse or better. You have to know how a game gets remembered. Halo will always be remembered as the grandfather to console FPS that revolutionized FPS gameplay on consoles that all others followed. GTA is remembered for its sandbox approach. Dark Souls for it's difficulty. The difference between these games and destiny is that they were great. Not just good, but really great and memorable. So while a good number of players love Destiny there is an equal amount of players that don't. So, what will it be remembered for?

  • Yeah, you're right. I think Destiny will be remembered for its FPSMMO, it has this unique feel that no other game has, it's a daily routine game where if you miss a day, you'll miss out on something, it tries to make real life part of the game if you know what I mean.
