How will bungie address this at launch...
-
If bungie don't match teams equally based on skill why shouldn't they leave?
-
It's just not a fun mode.
-
The game will have to go back to 6v6, it is the only real fix for the quitting, and not long before 1/2 the players start camping power ammo spawns and increasing the imbalance and more quitting. There will be a snowball effect after some time. While the game is fresh, or a DLC just dropped it will not be bad, but once the rush ends it will be a real problem. Punishment for quitting will only make them salty-errr, and they will leave, bungo will not like that.

10 minute time out for quitting games.

Edited by Furiously Dashing: 7/27/2017 4:35:33 PMReputation. Public for everyone to see in Crucible by viewing the player's profile. Finishing a match, not being afk kicked, etc. makes you rep go up. Quiting prematurely, getting afk kicked, etc. lowers your rep. Letting your rep go to zero locks you out of crucible until you pay the 50,000 glimmer fine. If you have high rep, it gives you the opportunity to quit without punishment if you really have a legit reason to leave a match.
-
I like Street Fighter's approach to quiters; you quit enough times and you get matched with only quiters.
-
If I notice my team sucks at the start, I'm quitting. If they implement punishments for quitting, I'm going AFK. Fight me.
-
Haha, it is so true. The moment people see they are up against a fireteam they leave. My fireteam actually would let the last person left in the other team win. That or we would ask if they wanted to play hide and seek and/or tag. Doing that was actually more entertaining than the actual game type was
-
Not giving them the reward for finishing the match.

Edited by mxgreg: 7/27/2017 1:00:08 AMHalf of the game types are basically mini-trials games. So if you like trials I think you'll love PVP in D4. But unless you are in a fire team, you can't expect people to stay. Solo players not going to stay and get stomped by a loaded team. The small maps become very predicable and get boring fast. Having somebody AFC during a match will tank your team most of the time. So why stay? The only way to get people to stay is to pay them in loot. I had some fun matches during the beta, but long term I don't think these small maps and game types are going to keep casuals playing. Right now it's new shinny maps and weapons, but as time goes on... As the pool of players shrinks everyone will start to realize it's the same BS as D1, as far as bad connections, lag switching etc.
-
It's game type that will suffer if it uses random matchmaking. For all those that wanted matchmaking for Trials, now you see why they didn't do it.
-
I hated it. But then again I was on a team where the leader hadn't figured out that it's all about team shooting. Every time we were on defense we split into 2 teams. 4v2 then 3v2. We lost most of the time. If you liked playing solo in D1, peeling away from the crowd to flank your opponents, take out a few of them by surprise then running off to heal up and surprise them from a different local well... It's much harder to do in D2.
-
If there's a ranking system then I'd hope people get timed bans like rainbow six siege. But if no ranking system then idc whatever gets me the loot the fastest ya know.
-
It's not a big deal at all. People can quit if they want to
-
4v4 will cause many more people to leave matches. If a players starts out afk and rounds are lost playing 3v4, because of it, people are justified to leave. With lag and uneven matches, whether it be starting 3v4 or a player afk, people are going to leave. 25% of your team not playing, sucks.
-
It's made for pre-made fire teams. Probably not wise to go in there solo
-
Count down was horrible. Just bad not even close to fun.
-
>>playing solo >>launch game with solo teamates vs full fireteam >>options > change character during load >>can't stop won't stop, I don't receive pub stomps and I won't play them. I play with friends all the time, but when I play solo I don't play against fireteams. Can't make me and I encourage everyone else to do the same.
-
Team game needs a team. Same thing happened in elimination. That is all.
-
45 minute PvP and PvE ban?
-
Edited by contra_reality: 7/26/2017 4:15:25 PMEasy, do what other games do. Ranked playlist, publicly displayed rating, huge leaver penalty with queue ban. But seriously, how can you call it competitive without a rank/rating system 🤔
-
Meh. So what. Phuq em.
-
In WoW, if you quit out of a PvP game, you have to wait 15 minutes to play again. It's not a bad system, since if you have to do something that takes your attention from the game long enough to get afk kicked, then you can probably wait the remainder. In destiny, the biggest complaint I've seen against this idea is how often you get disconnected.
-
I'm fine with quitting if it's in the 'Quickplay' mode. Not fine with quitting if it's in the 'Competitive' mode. Implement a short time-out period if a player quits in rapid succession from Competitive modes. If you are not going to play the game, the game may as well go the extra mile and help you out with that decision.
-
wait til the PC guys get in on the action. you aint seen nothing yet 😂
-
I had no idea what count down was at first. I was the first blood and realized it was going to be after noticing a 20 second respawn. No counter strike for me thank you lol
