"Vex milk waterfall"?? Why cant the ghost give me some lore about what radiolaria is instead of making stupid jokes about it looking like milk.
Edit.
Ghost's lines are terrible. I think the most ironic line we will ever hear in destiny 2 is when ghost tells failsafe she is depressing and useless. He is too.
Like this game is about adventure and growing to be a guardian again and getting stronger and ghost is always in the background complaining or talking about dumb small stuff. In the inverted strike, hes freaking out about going into the drills - like come on...who wrote that script. Thats such a turn off for players.
I really wish ghosts lines were more useful or helpful or at least encouraging and empowering. In halo, cortana was a strong, resourcful AI which gave such a boost to players. With her guidance, you felt empowered to fight.
Ghost just doesnt feel like a great companion for success. He's funny yess and cute at times, but his voice sounds like a 10 year old whining most of the game.
They've done a great job of ruining dialog and pandering to 8 year olds ever since sacking Dinklebot. Though I realize I'm in the minority by preferring his colder, darker, robotic sarcasm to the Saturday morning cartoon we have now. As most of the adult community agrees, I would literally pay $100 for an unedited Samuel L Jackson to voice my ghost.
-
Dinklebot: Boring, monotone, and overall annoying. But I miss him. Nolanbot: Childish, sentimental, and honestly you get the feeling he cares for our Guardian. But his lines are very cringe worthy, not Steven Seagal cringe worthy but damn close. Nolanbot is more like that kid with severe ADD who is just about to make sense and then sees a butterfly.
-
I mostly don't mind it, but vex milk did annoy me slightly, because now I know people are going to say "no it's milk" when I try to explain what radiolarian fluid actually is. It could have been a great way to put lore into the game.
-
I already posted but destiny is rated T. You would see that if you looked at the case kiddo.
-
He could've been saying shit like "fleek", "lit", or "fam".. So honestly...there's no need to bitch about the way it is now..
-
I like Failsafe more than my Ghost and I've had less time with Failsafe. It's like he forgot that we killed Atheon, Crota, and Oryx when he whines about the drill part.
-
You know who wasn't like that...?
DINKLAGE
-
It's something that could be better, more witty and still not cross over into "adult" humor. examples. " I wonder how much ice it would take to make the worlds biggest milkshake? " " Too bad we didn't bring cookies. " " Cannonball in there so we can get a sample, don't worry I'm here to revive you."
-
All ghosts should just say, Hey, Look, and Listen
-
We played 1 mission and 1 strike with ghost dialogue. I feel like out of the alleged "50+ cutscenes" and all the non-cutscene dialogue, that's a pretty poor sample size.
-
The D2 Nolan bot lines I've heard so far are honestly cringe worthy to the point of being uncomfortable at how bad they are. Humor is great but it should at least be somewhat smart or well written.
-
To be fair most Millenials act like 10 year olds, so even though its rated 16+ the target audience could be aimed at percieved age not actual hence the dialogue choices
-
The fidget spinner says it all.... Target market 5 to 12 year olds.
-
I'm 18 and they're funny to me. Maybe you should lighten up a little? Or maybe people just have different opinions on stuff. Idk, I like that they use the ghost as a point of comic relief majority of the time like Cayde rather than everything being super serious all the time. That's what Zavala and Ikora are for.
-
Yeah I wish this game wasn't so afraid to be a little darker. It's like a cartoon on nickelodeon anymore
-
why are you complaining? in the german version, cayde6 favorite food store is a turkish doner kebab. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doner_kebab add that to the lore. that game is a no buy.
-
I look at what the ghost is trying to be, then look at Ray from Fortnite. I feel like bungie were trying to do something like that (not saying they copied, just the fortnite happened to have a companion that did what ghost should be doing.).
-
You have to consider the current 16 year old vocabulary 😒

Edited by Hunted-werewolf: 7/27/2017 11:23:07 PMI agree... This is a story about the guardian, not his ghost. We should have a guardian voice who asks the questions, and a more wise ghost who can awnser them, i mean it took him centuries to find us, so you imgine he has some extra knowledge and backstory right? But nope, his just annoying and boring. #BringBackDinklebot. I also feel like Destinys story should be more risky, we should see betrayll and hidden agendas. And not to talk about some death. I remember in ttk, for a moment i actually cared about "Mara Sov and Uldrens death", just think how we would feel if someone like Cayde died. Everything isent black and white, good vs evil. I would love to see the speaker and the traveller actually being the "bad guys" and for once feel sympathy for the fallen and hive . #FallenLivesMatters #OryxDidNothingWrong. It just feels like the detiny story overall is designed for a younger audience, and that is a shame, that is basically the reason why they took away our guardians voice, so cildren could imagine being the guadian and saving the world... Just my opinion, but Bungie please make the story a little bit more serious and realistic, with some jokes of course, just not to much of those cringe lines...
-
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well...
-
Dinklebot was 10000x better than this bum. Now we have a little 13 yr old tranny ghost that makes kid jokes 24/7 while sounding like a teen girl
-
They used a good voice actor, but used bad dialogue for him.
-
Agreed.
-
Cause overwatch did it and sold well, so its going to be the new standard for a while i guess.
-
Because everyone cried dinklebot was too serious in the first game....
-
Personally I find the whole laughing in the face of death hilarious and uplifting. Destiny would be really dark and depressing if ghost was... useful. As it stands, Destiny has a serious lack of emotional substance and I think ghosts playful banter kind of sets the tone, which is we are guardians and we don't back down even if the odds are against us. If you want a knotty gritty story, I suggest you go play literally anything else but Destiny.
