Edited by Sherpa: 7/25/2017 3:23:53 PMTo be fair you could just use a pair of earbuds to communicate certain things and just stay mute unless making a call out Mics are not NEEDED but are HELPFUL I've done raids with players who were legally mute, some who were only deaf, and some with severe physical disabilities / injuries. It's 100% possible for anyone to complete the raids, but it also depends on the raid team you're joining, personally I feel if you have the option to plug in a mic/earbuds to communicate even if it's like 1 word callouts throughout encounters, you might as well do it to make it easier on you and the group if you're using LFG

What did this say?

You already know the solution to this problem. Yet here you are. Complaining that everyone doesn't conform to you.
-
Because people project. They know that they need someone to tell them what to do, so they expect everyone else to need that too. I could easily run Aksis with no mics, because I understand what's going on and I'm aware of who is around me. I could look at my partner, look at people around the map, and go to a spot that's empty. I could easily do every raid and 1-shot every boss with 5 other players like me, and I have before. Not that I'm the best gamer of all time, I'm just a dude with a brain who has some sense of awareness. Beyond that, it's just execution (which can sometimes fail). That said, I would probably expect most people to have a mic, because it's hard to assume someone you don't know is a skilled player with that sense of awareness. You can usually tell by inspecting a loadout. If someone is using awful weapons and had un-upgraded gear, you can probably assume that they don't know what they're doing in a raid either. If someone joins a group with a full raid set, hand cannon reload speed gloves while using a hand cannon, a void sword, a high impact sniper, and has their gear maxed out? Well you can probably guess that they have some experience and care about raiding.

It's a coop game that uses communication, get a mic
-
I never using my mic I don't feel like hearing annoying people
-
You can get a mic for like 20 bucks, hell you could even use whatever mic you want with Xbox One and Windows 10 Xbox app.

You sound more like a Salza anyway. Irrelevant and forgotten

Edited by YummyYummYum: 7/25/2017 12:05:30 AMSo OP is finding it difficult to get into groups because of no Mic. Yet refuses to get a mic... So what is the point of this rant again? Was it just to express frustrations due to a personal choice? I'm sorry, but you won't get sympathy from me. That's your choice. Though honestly you should get a nice headset anyways. They have superior sound quality that will immerse you fully into the game. I invested into a Astro gaming headset with the sound amp, which almost all gaming headsets come with Mic functionality. If you won't get a headset for the Mic at least do it for the sound. Games are so much better with a good quality headset.

No. Never.

Without a mic, you're like that weird guy at the party who doesn't talk to anyone. You never want to be the weird guy.

Edited by Batz: 7/25/2017 12:07:37 AMI can understand both sides of the argument. As far as I'm concerned Destiny is way easier than matchmade (you hear that, Bungie?) raids in proper MMO's and no one has ever told me to jump into VoiP for one of those. Hell, give or take the occassional "bio" text chat there's not much communication going on at all. People just assume that you know wtf you're doing until you prove them wrong - and depending on the mistake you're either told what to do or kicked.
-
BRO ITS ONLY 15$.... You spent 350 on a PS4, and 60$ on the game. at least 100$ is you bought all the DLC, and you cant get a 15$ mic???????? Whine somewhere else.
-
I found out that those dollar store earbuds with the mic, the ones meant for phones, works on Xbox controllers. I keep a few as backups. I can usually scrounge up a buck and some change from all sorts of places.
-
I raided with a guy without a mic once because I was in a good mood. Slight inconvenience at best since he was skilled and a good listener. 99% of the time I won't raid with micless players since it's not worth wasting my time. Everybody is free to play however they want, but if they're struggling to get things done, that's their own fault.
-
Simple. Get a mic. Vital piece of equipment for multiplayer games.
-
Also change your name. You are not worthy to be called Son Goku. You should be ashamed for committing such blasphemy.
-
If you're going to raid or play an instance that calls for communication, then it's in your best interest to get a mic. It's perfectly fair for people to have an issue with someone who can't immediately answer back in the heat of a Trials match or raid boss. Your best option is to make friends who can tolerate you not having a mic.
-
Well considering it's an online multiplayer that most activities require communication ye I do find it easy for you to be excluded.

Edited by cambo: 7/24/2017 11:17:00 PMYour post is what is wrong with about 70 percent of Destiny Players. You have this sense of entitlement. Its not really because you cant afford one or anything like that. Its solely because you refuse to do something that is beneficial to your group. There are lots of instances where having a mic is almost a must. Sure it is possible but why put all that stress on 5 other people when doing a raid when you're the only one not communicating. Word of advice not being mean or anything but don't even think about playing anything competitive if you cannot communicate. IMO YOU are being super selfish and sound very entitled. Destiny is about taking you and the people you meet through many adventures. Not quite fun if you cant talk to the ones who will listen and may actually care about what you have to say. #OPisaMillenial EDIT: I know my percentage may be way off but 70 sounded like a good number haha. Its probably more like 30 but still. I HATE MILLENIALS

Edited by aboniks: 7/24/2017 11:10:37 PMI don't use a mic for in-game chat, and rarely accept friend requests. I've already got people to talk to while gaming, and they're not all playing Destiny. As a result, I don't raid. Nothing else in this franchise has been complex enough to require a group mic. I'm perfectly happy to make that trade off. You gotta pick your battles and control your expectations, mate. You're bucking the trend. Don't expect an easy ride.

You get one free with the PS4, I used that for a few weeks.
