Your excuse that it is a vocal minority complaining has already been blown out of the water. It's not a minority this time around. It's everyone from veteran players to returning players and new players. The minority are those saying the game is fine. Even sites and newspapers and magazines are all echoing the sentiment that Destiny 2 is broken because it's been wrongly geared to PvP making PvE very little fun to play. What we are seeing now (and it's quite amusing) was expertly described by a destiny supporter who said "With Destiny 1 I defended it because, even when it came out and it was obvious it wasn't what was described, I didn't want to admit I had been duped. I had some great times on it and it's still a great fps. However, with destiny 2 and after playing the beta. I'm not making the mistake of hyping it up again when I can clearly see that it's just not as fun as the already broken Destiny 1. This time round I'm not going to be defending their mistakes just to save face"

  • You have some good points. I would however say fun is subjective. I have been gaming since '84 and I have never once bought a game, with my parents money or my money, based on someone else's opinion. Expert or novice an opinion is an opinion and it is a fact that most people who are happy with things don't voice opinions. One doesn't need to defend or refute a video game based on the conjecture of another.

  • I would say I've never used someone else's opinion to guide my buying but that would be a lie. 90% of the time i play the demo or the beta and decide. This time around i can clearly see from the beta that d2 isn't fun from a PvE perspective. I am not alone in this conclusion either. The thing that i and even PvP players can't get out heads around is why this mess had happened. ALL Bungie needed to do and was expected to do were 3 things. 1. Make PvE Destiny 1 with a full story driven campaign and dynamic endgame missions. 2. Separate PvP from PvE. I even suggested they go with the simple and lore following solution of just having Shaxx explain standard PvP loadouts by saying "My Crucible! My RULES!!". Thats a no brainer. 3. Dedicated servers for PvP.

  • I am 100% with you on number 2. I think they missed a golden opportunity to take this game to the next level. It isn't a deal breaker for me, but it is for many. I think the most frustrating aspect of this whole franchise is the potential we all saw in this game from the first commercial. Having said that, because of this game I have online friends. Because of this game I rekindled my love for gaming. Because of this game I have a blast. The last one is the most important to me. The moment I don't have fun is the moment I put it away. Thankfully, even through this beta, that hasn't happened to me.
