I could see that going bad! Kids booting people at the end just to get better loot!

Yeah I realized that it seems a large group of people are assholes and this would be a problem. I have changed to thinking implementing a trade system would be the better option. You can only trade with the person if they were in the strike or raid with you and you have a short timer of let's say 5-10 minutes before the gear gets locked down. Also raid gear can only be traded for other raid gear. This way you can bring someone straight through and give them all the gear in one go and potentially only get the 3-5 pieces.. I know my method would need some tweaking but I feel straight rng for gear is not really the way to go.

The grind keeps the game alive. I do like some of your ideas but they might be difficult to implement. I think a trade system would take away from the excitement of finale getting the gear you wanted. Maybe have it so you can make a trade after 20 completion. Taking 129 VoG completions to get the praetorian foil is a bit excessive

I see you point but I have a friend who was pretty much stuck at lvl 29 until the dark below came out. He literally spent 6-7 months never getting the arm pieces he needed. While I get the concern that grinding keeps the game alive...excessive grinding has been an issue with this game. Also if a decent amount of content would follow the release them the trade system wouldn't be too big of a factor...but of destiny 2 has the long couple month content droughts like destiny 1 then I can understand not using the trade feature.
