Why would you choose Voidwalker over Dawnblade?

I've been a Voidwalker main since 2013. I'm not absolutely sure, but right now it seems he will lose the throne. The crown will go to the new sunnyboy in town, I mean farm, Dawnblade, descendant of Sunsinger. Why? The reasons are the higher mobility of DB, and the slow nova bomb of VW. I might get used to the bomb, and maybe the locked vortex version has the old speed, but still VW has less mobility. There's blink, sure, but I never liked it much. Dawnblade has a dodge, and can shoot while gliding. Every time I play VW now, I miss those abilities.

  • It's just a preference of play style. Seems like Bungie worked to make each subclass feel pretty distinct so that people would say "why would you" and someone else would respond "why wouldn't you"? Basically there is a stronger identity to the subclass. To me, Voidwalker, with blink, feels really fast and fun with strong ground game. I also like the idea that instead of a roaming super it's a super that roams. I can throw it and run to cover or setup my rift and lay down additional fire. You can also still jump over enemies and slam it below and it will blow right there. I also like the option of self shooting it so I can detonate earlier and unleash the seekers. I was in the story mission messing around with that and got 5 orbs from one super.
