God *BLAM* it, I tried the BETA

I got to try the open Beta this morning and you know what... It wasn't bad. I played through the mission and there were obvious changes. I may need to tweak some of my settings or play the mission again more slowly to catch everything in, but details wise, it felt different than D1. The graphics, effects, and visuals all seem different to me. There seems to be a sharper quality to image, the "Light" visuals (shields, super effects) are more prominent and solid, and things that glow look less like there is a "cloud" of light around them and more of a "glowing brightness" of sharp detail. I was worried about being limited by mostly having to use only primaries (because I assumed power ammo would be scarce), but I feel like I actually got to roll with the weapons. The exotic rifle seemed cool, and it had an effect that I really thought was cool (reloads ammo directly in clip as your firing) and it seemed to make a autorifle into a machine gun. With time and exploration of more weapons, I feel like there's something good coming weapon wise. The power weapons I won't say much on, cause I want to try more variety, I also wished watered down versions of old secondary weapons can be put into the elemental class (like weak shotguns and fusions) so that they could add more customization and be used to melt shields, but would only be good for just that. I feel that the scout rifle is going to become more of a sniper when it's elemental. But I digress. Enemy wise, they looked different, their health looked different, they moved different. They are cabal, but they seem different to me. I enjoyed fighting them. Now, all this said, there is more to be said, but also there are some critiques.. The recharge for abilities felt way too slow. I prefer my melee charge, but I found my class ability charged before everything else. Do I know it's slow because of the Beta? Yes. Do I worry it'll stay that slow during the main game to add balance? Yes. Do I also think there will be armor, weapons, or abilities that will help speed things up? Yes as well. I can not assume to know what exactly D2 will have in store, but I will say that if not just us complaining about that speed, but also the devs playing it will get tired of it too, they will make changes as they see fit. Are the enemies health too much? A little bit, but I thought it was because of primaries only damage and lack of ability recharge. Should things shift slightly back to what we're used to, we may be extremely powerful later. Also, the reccomended light level for the beta is 210, we are at 200, when we level up past 210, we will be able to breeze past it. I chalk the damage up to under level everything and weapon specifics, I'll have to wait and see what else is coming. I know also that the game uses a similiar design to D1, but it is on a while new engine as well, so things are different, but similar. Beta perfect? I don't know. But it was atleast enjoyable. The only thing that's holding me back from buying D2 now is if I will regret not getting the extra stuff, but I know that when I have the money, either before or after the release, I'm getting D2. Btw, I'm a casual, I'm a crud player. I'm nobody. But I atleast wanted to say some kind of opinion about the Beta. Comment as you will.
