My review of D2 beta pve/pvp

I feel there is alot of promise. I have been a massive fan of destiny since its release 3 years ago and that game got better with time, so to say the expectations of D2 was high are an understatement. My first impressions of the "single" player experience (pve) was good the opening campaign mission had lots of story and the pacing was great. Lets hope that stays throughout the whole campaign. A few things i found underwhelming or things that stopped you feeling fully immersed in the campaign mission was the lack of power ammo which i know many others have already said. The lack of damage output with certain weapons e.g. the pulse rifles, scout rifles and rocket launcher to name a few. The gun play is smooth and fun as to be expected with destiny by now but the lack of damage is frustrating at times. That includes grenade damage and availability rate and melee. Supers seemed underwhelming and hard to use aswell. Arcstrider movment is to slow and titan shield is to clunky. Does he only throw the shield once? Seems that way. The other thing i found underwhelming was zavala. When you meet in the main plaza of the tower to fend of 3 waves of enemies i found his involvment so lacking it was dissapointing. There are waves after wave of cabal charging at you and Zavala just stands idle behind a wall. That is totally out of his character. Even in the cutscene you see him titan striking fallen and getting in the fight as all titans would, but yet he just stands there idle until a barrage comes down and he pops a shield. At this point he felt less like a hero titan and more of a glorified shield generator. Which isnt even necessary as you can just stand away from him and be just as safe from the barrage. The next thing that was a little annoying was i missed cayde do his golden gun the first time as i looked right instead of left. There was nothing to give me an indication to where i should be looking to see all the action. Which is my next point, alot of the action you see happen with ikora, cayde and zavala is so scripted it ruins the immersion of the game. We want to see them fight and be involved not stand idle until prompted to do what i can only describe as a mid mission cutscene. Not to say my experience was entirely negative there are many good points but at the moment i feel there are still many things to be worked out. I also hope the game does not focus to much on pvp as i always like destiny for it's pve activities and as much as i like pvp i dont want the pve to lack or be pushed aside to make room for pvp. Talking of pvp i found the supers end far to quickly to actually make a difference in the match. Also they charge way to slow most of the time matches end and you can be top of the leader bored and not have earnt your super. Also arcstrider, striker and the dawblade feel to slow in their movement. Arcstrider for sure needs a health boost or speed boost or both or maybe a ranged option like bladedancer used to have the arc wave, as you can activate it charge towards someone and they casually turn run away turn back and shoot you and you can do nothing about it. Plus i feel the flinch rate is way to high as it is really frustrating when even the slightest damage can knock you off a hold X or square prompt such as heavy ammo or objectives. Also i hope 4 vs 4 isn't the max size for games and i hope there is a more casual or just more fun option of 6 vs 6 or larger for those who dont want to have to "try hard" every pvp match and who just want to have fun. That is what its all about at the end of the day. Create a game people feel powerful, magical and badass playing and people will play it. If you create a game thats focussed on being super balanced and gun focussed and people may as well play call of duty or other generic shooters. This is destiny make it make us feel like powerful guardians of light. Not slow gun toting grunts. All in all thankyou for your hardwork so far i hope i wasn't to harsh and hope maybe some of these things are adressed. Many thanks Jadon
