They are both amazing. These polls are -blam!-ing stupid. I personally prefer Xbox more. That doesn't mean it is better.
Except the controller is factually better
Edit: You're all arguing about opinions. Ergonomics are a preference. The DS4 uses Bluetooth where as Xbox made their own connection type for the Xbox controller. Bluetooth is not only by default slower but it doubles in latency times when multiple Bluetooth devices are connected. Edit2: I know I made a bit of bait but this has become a cespool. Edit3: Jimmies rustled. Mission accomplished.

  • Jesus dude you're so good at triggering people

  • I know right. I didn't even think this one would be that bad but holy shit.

  • Are the triggers objectively better designed in terms of durability? I got xb1 and the ps4. The ds4 triggers feel really cheap compared to the xb1. Same with the sticks. Idk if that is all just a "feel" or not. Neither have broke off, but whenever I play fps games on the ps4 I get this fear that suddenly the trigger is just going to give out. The recessed texture cups on xb have always felt great. If I wasn't afraid of messing the controller up I'd just switch the ds4 analogs out for the xb1. I can play with either, but hands down if I could plug my xb1 controller into the ps4 I'd 10/10 times opt for that.

  • To the counterpoint, DS4 face buttons are nice and smooth. I find Xbox controller face buttons to be crunchy. Nobody likes crunchy buttons.

  • The buttons on both feel fine. Look wise, the Xbox buttons look much nicer. I like the underlay look under clear buttons. Sorta wished the ds4 implemented that on their default controller. It's just a looks thing though. Feel wise, only the initial Xbox 1 controller gave me problems. The bumpers were designed bad, but they fixed that. The face buttons were , I'd say "clicky" not crunchy lol. I have an elite now though. So that controllers like comparing raw sex to wearing a plastic bag over your... Yep. But anyways, I own both consoles and use both. Preference wise though, I'd pick an Xbox controller over a PlayStation 10/10 times unless the game needs the touch pad features.

  • The triggers on Xbox have more range if that's what you mean. At least I'm pretty sure they do. And the sticks, I think, are better also but that's a preference thing.

  • DS4 has anywhere from equal to <15ms more of input lag as Xbox One controller, depending on the game you play. It's been tested. Do you really think thats enough to coin Xbox controller as the superior controller? Hint: No. It's purely subjective based on the individual user's preference. You claim to be unbiased (or maybe just a tad Xbox biased). In reality, you are one of the biggest Xbox homers on these forums.

  • The Xbox controller has about 9ms of latency. How can the PS controller have 15ms less than 9. On top of that, Bluetooth doubles in latency every time a Bluetooth device is added. Say the PS controller runs at 15-20ms (average for a high-end Bluetooth device), when Bluetooth headphones are added it doubles to 35ishms and if another device is added (say another controller or something, anything) it doubes again to 75ms and so on. Now these are all still very fast but this can make a difference. I still like the DS4 controller and it is a very nice controller (though I still have my gripes). Both it and the Xbox controller are very nice with little to no differences except this connection difference.

  • How is the controller factually better?

  • Bluetooth vs whatever the -blam!- Microsoft named their connection.

Latency. Bluetooth is slower and doubles in latency when multiple BT devices are connected.

  • Interesting. I'll just go and check up on the controllers myself. Thank you.

  • I said I would look up the differences. Not sure why that prompted such a comment but okay.

  • Except the controller isn't objectively better. It's subjective. If someone has a differing opinion it can't be objective. However that applies only if their arguments are rational, and not "cuz I said so", so 2+2=4 is fact and if someone says "2+2=5 cuz I said so" their argument is irrational and wrong.
I know you'd bring something like that up before I posted so I added that. People like over analysing stuff so I made sure.
• It's not an opinion. The Dualshock 4 uses Bluetooth which is slower and doubles in latency when multiple are connected.
