Founded a clan, yet haven't joined a clan?!

I created a group named "The Apricot Squad". And yet, when I check clans I'm in, it says I'm in none! Is it because I have to be a member of a clan for it to count, instead of a founder? Just need to clear this up.

So when I check your account, I see that you have created a Group, but you have not yet added Clan Features to the group. To have the tag appear in-game, you do need 3 Clan Members, but to have Clan Members you need to have Clan Features enabled. Below I have listed how to enable Clan Features. How to Enable a Clan:

One common misconception about Groups and Clans are that once you create a Group, it automatically has a Clan attacked. Unfortunately, this is not the case. For a group to have a clan attached to it, the Founder of the group can go into the "Admin Tools" section of a Group and scroll down to the "Enable Clan Features" section. When you enable a clan, you will automatically become a clan member of that clan removing you from your current clan. Also, you can only enable Clan Features for the platform which you have attached to your Bungie Account. If you only play on Xbox, you cannot enable PlayStation Clan Features. One way to work around this is by having an admin which you trust who plays on PlayStation take over the Founder status and enable the Clan Features. To switch Founders, you first must demote all admins except for the one who you want to be the new founder. From there, the current Founder must leave the group. This will promote the next Admin to Founder, and since there is only one remaining Admin, he/she will become the new founder.

Once you have enabled a Clan, you will want to recruit members to your Group and have them join your clan. The best way to do this would be to go to the #Recruitment(Clans) forums and post there. Once you get two more Group members, they must choose the group to be their designated clan. To join the clan, they should follow the following steps: How to Join a Clan:

To join a clan, you first must find a group with Clan Features enabled which you enjoy. To find out if a Group has clan features, you can go to the Membership tab on your profile, and if there is a "Clan Enabled" icon under the name and member list, it means you're good to go. To join a clan, you must have an active Destiny account on the platform the features are enabled on. Head to the Group Homepage and select "Set as Active Xbox/PlayStation Clan" from the website, or on the application, choose the three dots in the top right and select the "Set as Xbox/PlayStation Clan" button. Joining a clan with more 3 Clan Members on the platform will have the Group Name appear on your Destiny Emblem in game, and on your Bungie.net Profile.

For more information, I would suggest checking out this forum post. • How many people are in your group with the clan tag on? If you don't have more than four others aside from yourself making that your clan, it will not show up as your clan.
