PC build dilemma

I've finally acquired the necessary sacrifices for my ascension ceremony to the glorious Master Race. One problem -- thanks to the latest trend in cryptocurrency mining, gpus are anywhere from 100 ~ 250$ more than their normal price or out of stock... Given that there's no real way of knowing when prices will drop back down or when a card will be temporarily back in stock, I figure it wouldn't be wise to order everything else only to have it sitting around in boxes in my hot ass room for an undetermined amount of time. On the other hand, I kind of want to get the stuff out of the way now. What should I do? Wait for the gpu to be available or buy everything else now? Here's the build, btw. Update: I bought this for 599$ and it should be here Thursday. As for the other shit, there's apparently a spending limit on my bank card, so I have to wait until tomorrow to place my order. I just went and got the 1080 today 'cause I didn't want to miss yet another opportunity. Update 2: All shite has been ordered and should be here by tomorrow. For kb&m I got a Corsair K70 and Scimitar(spelling?) rgb pro. Update 3: first box of goodies came. Resisting urge to open box of gpu... My other stuff won't be here until Wednesday or Friday, but that's okay as it gives me time to clean my room and reorganize.

I'm not sure if you've ordered your other parts yet, but fair warning as nobody else has mentioned this, the motherboard you have listed is dual channel, when you have listed that you're going to be running quad channel ram. I would highly advise against this, not only is the ram you have listed extremely overpriced for some flashy leds, but running quad channel (4x8gb) on a dual channel motherboard will be slower than running 2x8gb sticks, and you'll be putting more stress on the memory controller since it will have to switch between between the sticks to get the full 32gb. As i said, not sure if it's too late, but something you should definitely look into before ordering.

    • PC parts are like the iphone. Every year theres a newer and better model that outperforms the one you bought less than 12 months ago. If you arent gonna have the whole thing together for a while, youd be best off waiting until you can get all the parts. This will ensure that you either get the best price from parts outdating or the most current tech and bang for your buck.

Asus has excellent cooling. I have a Asus 1080TI and have never gone above 50C while intensively gaming. Do recommend.

You could always go with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a B350 motherboard, then use the extra money to upgrade to a 1080. Also, you can get a nvme m.2 ssd like the Intel 600p for the same price as the sata drive you have picked.

      • You've got a very high budget and a lot of luxuries to consider a 1080 to be overkill. Can I ask what you're using it for?

        • Microcenter usually has deals on their video cards.

        • 1080ti is largely unaffected. 1070 founders on the Nvidia site appear to be less affected. Not sure if either of those are compatible or within your price range tho...
