So.. its official that Destiny has finally become just like every other boring FPS.
Great... that sucks.

This is why i am playing Titanfall 2 now. It may be similar to other types of FPS in some ways but at least it has verticallity and huge maps, which aren't a problem because you can make up ground in an instant with the movement system. Its not as deep in gunplay as Destiny, but its super fun. Destiny just looks so boring now. Instead of making maps that fit guardian's abilities of movement, they just make it so you don't even really have to use any jumping. Wtf!?!?!?
-
But how though? What other FPS games have Sub Classes with supers? What other FPS gives you a GIANT pool of weapons to collect? What other FPS game has 3 weapon types that you can bring to every activity? What other FPS game has MMO and RPG aspects? What other FPS game has been played as much as D1 has?
-
Ummm, COD has unique "super" abilities and all "subclasses" are slightly different Titanfall is the same deal, except your super is that you call a giant mech suit from space that has unique abilities and makes you a wrecking machine. Think before you type.
-
Unique... they took the dam FOH and put it into the game. How is that Unique? Because you ise two blades to do it?
-
Bro, comparing what COD gives you to what Destiny gives you is hardly the same. And Titanfall, is nothing like Destiny. There is more customization in Destiny. And I never said they didn't exist. OP said: Destiny is becoming like every other boring FPS: Is COD boring? Must not be since people still play it. And I know from first hand experience that Titanfall isn't boring either. So, I started naming traits that Destiny has that makes it NOT boring. Read what I said in context. Then type. Or better yet, use your brain first, then type.

Borderlands series is one. Hell you could even throw in the Division except thats 3rd person. The only thing that Destiny had over the other FPS was game play and individual power. Now its more like an updated Halo... which isnt good.

Everyone keeps saying "its like Halo" and just think that's not good. I don't understand. If a game is like Halo then that means it will be the best FPS of its time. Have the largest group of players for long periods of time. If its like Halo, it will change the FPS scene forever, much like Halo. Everyone says its like Halo don't realize that's actually a compliment. Halo was one of the best FPS games of the past 16 yrs. Destiny cannot physically ever be Halo. It has more differences that similarities, but just because it has similarities, doesn't automatically mean bad.
-
Halo WAS awesome YEARS ago. Just because it was great 15 years ago does not mean it will be good now. Halo got boring and repetitive as all hell by the time 3 was released. Most stayed on till Reach due to the franchise history. I prefer games that dont try to rehash what worked 10 plus years ago. Its like watching a shitty reboot movie. Raids? Pffft... you think that makes Destiny special? Never played any PC games have you. Everything in Destiny has been done before. Now we are just weaker with a Halo play style. That's not exciting or impressive. Enjoy though.. been down this road already and back again.

Literally every mechanic for gun play, nades, abilities, supers, ya know the main things that make Destiny....Destiny, is completely different than Halo.. Here is the community: D2 is going to 4v4 in crucible??!?!?!? Freaking Halo wannabe's. Like really? There aren't ANY other similarities THAT CHANGE GUNPLAY in D2 that could be seen as Halo-esque.
-
But there really aren't any similarities in D2 that I have seen and Halo. Please name one thing that is the same other than 4v4? Never said Raids made it special. I just said please name other FPS games that have raids....
-
Borderlands 2 had a raid. 4v4 Static weapons Weapon loadouts Player movment Limited power to drag out simple engagements Game play and style. Anyone who has played CE to at least Reach can see the similarities.
-
Saying borderlands had a raid is dishonest, they had bosses that had a lot of health and possible need of teamwork. That's not a raid though, and definitely not what destiny is doing lol. Your other criticisms are fairly vague and D1 shared them. So whatever you are getting at is yielding little effect.
-
Borderlands two had a DLC that was in fact a raid. Just because it didn't require team wipes for not standing on a platform doesn't change that.
-
Keep in mind I was speaking of what a raid is in destiny at the very least. Being dismissive of what destiny is uniquely doing is not helping your case.
-
If you love Borderlands so much, why aren't you playing that? It seems to have everything you could ever want in an FPS right? Then why bother playing anything else?
-
It got dated after awhile, like Halo. So I moved onto other games. I play allot of games, not just Destiny. Skyrim .. mods Fallout 4 .. mods Friday the 13th Doom Division Destiny Just a few.. and it depends on if friends are on or not. Or what I feel like doing.
-
That's cool. But if you don't want the game to become like Halo, why would you want it to be like Borderlands?
-
I didn't say I did. You asked for an example of a similar game. I gave one.
-
You are correct, I inferred that from our conversation. I apologize.
-
Static weapons: Okay, if you take out the thousands of weapons Destiny gives you compared to the Ten in Halo, then sure, similar. Weapon Loadouts: Loadouts weren't implemented into Halo until Reach. And even then, every loadout had to have a pistol. I would hardly call that a "loadout". Player movement: There are absolutely no similarities in this. I am beginning to think you never played Halo. Limited power to wait what? Are you just making shite up? How much power do you think you need in an FPS bro? Game play and style: Again, these are completely different. There is almost never a need to aim down scopes in Halo, where as Destiny is all about that life.
-
I see similarities, but again, similarities aren't bad. Especially since it literally is a different game. Almost every FPS game that came out after Halo could be said to have similarities of Halo. Its still a shite argument.
-
How is the movement the same? They have only recently added sliding and running in Halo, and last time I checked, Halo didn't have double jumps (or any class jumps for that matter). The only thing that resembles Halo is the gun play, which looks amazing. I don't see any major issue with what they're currently doing. Unless you think lobbing stickies and spraying sidearms was fun.
-
What other FPS game has raids? What other FPS game has .... I could keep going... But "boring" is subjective. And the funny thing is, you haven't even played D2 yet. How could you know if its boring or not without playing? Do you have telepathic abilities?
