Without a 4K tv, get a normal PS4.

Edited by magburner: 6/30/2017 10:31:15 AMTwelve million gamers think that the PS4 Pro is worth it. If you do not have a PS4, then it is totally worth it. If you are stepping up from a base PS4, then listen to your inner fanboi...

3 RepliesWell if you don't have a PS yet, get the Pro. It's just insurance incase you ever get a 4k HDR tv or the PSVR. Also most Pro enhanced games have the option for 4k or normal HD but with better effects/performance.

I got one for Father's Day and I absolutely love it. That being said, I also have a 65" OLED 4K tv which really utilizes it to its full extent. I don't think the pro will really benefit you without the 4K tv. Something to consider.

5 RepliesDepends. If you already have a PS4, and don't have a 4k TV or PS VR....then probably not. If you're buying your first PS or making the leap to current gen for the first time....then yes. Games run better and are more stable on PS4 Pro than they do on PS4. If you're interested in PS VR....then yes. Sony doesn't really talk about it, but PS VR really pushes a standard PS4 console pretty hard. A lot of the reason why Sony came out with the Pro when they did was to support PS VR. All in all, the PS4 Pro represents a modest but noticeable upgrade from standard PS4. But an OPTIONAL one, imo, if you either don't have a 4K TV or PS VR. But that being said, if there's ANY chance of you getting a 4K TV in the near future, go ahed and get it. I was just browsing through the Best Buy website and was shocked at how low 4K TV prices are getting....and make no mistake. These games----especially games like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Division----look ***gorgeous** in 4k.

Depends on what you want it for. It also depends on what PS4 games you own. If you don't have a 4K TV then I'm gonna have to say no. A handful of games allow you to to boost the frame rate instead of the resolution ( Rise of The Tomb Raider, Nioh, Final Fantasy XV ), I thought options like these would be a lot more common in new games but not many developers seem to make use of the feature. As for Boost mode, I've yet to try it on any of my games but from from what I've heard, results can vary a lot depending on the game.

Edited by BLEEHOW97: 6/28/2017 4:59:43 PMNo. Not even if you had a 4K tv. Neither the pro or the Scorpio are worth it imo. Because they won't play any games the regular PS4 and Xbox can't
