D2 Has Me Wondering...Will it Become as Bad as D1 Has?
Lag
Meta
Repetition
The list goes on. I truly hope that D2 is a great game. In fact, Destiny 1 was great. But it has turned into a complete mess.
That's pretty much all I had to say.
*Ive been thinking about this. I'm starting to realize that Destiny had me addicted. No shit. As a grown man. I've logged well over 4000 hours on 2 accounts. And I'm just starting to think that it was all a waste. I've always played games, but never was addicted to any of them. I honestly think it has affected my real life in a negative manner.
Just being honest.

Lag- every game has it, I don't experience lag as much as most of the people on here with their claims that it's so rampant. Meta-always happens in FPS, deal or go play Minecraft. Repetition- all games have this. Bungie is not spitting out content every month. There will be times of content drought, play another game.

1 ReplyThey have had over 2 years to improve and upgrade the game. You act like they are bringing back the same supers or p2p connection or 30 fps. Things will be different this time. I have faith in Bungie.

1 Reply... Destiny 2 is launching with every nerf ever implemented in Destiny 1. There will most likely be more weapon balancing patches as well (knowing Bungie there will be no buffs to anything).

4 RepliesI've never been addicted to something I didn't like. For example, shoving glass in your eyes or eating Chipotle. I usually avoid those things because they're not pleasant. If you think D1 wasted your time then all games are a waste of time. But if you like to play, play something you like. I don't understand all these people who need therapy for this game or justification from strangers but good luck whatever your decision is.

This is every single first person shooter basically ever. There is always gonna be a meta, there is always gonna be lag, there is always gonna be repetitive games. If you don't like it go play something like skyrim instead of posting pointless posts in these forums

Yes. If bungie decides that the best way to get people to switch to D3 is by killing the fun from D2. At which point, I think a lot of people will be rather upset with their methods.

5 RepliesI think that D2 is just D1 with a continuation story. If you loved D1 then you'll love D2. If you fell out of love and say D1 for the hamster wheel that it was then you know that's what D2 will be like.

3 RepliesAre you sure you're not just bored with Destiny? Nobody has ever claimed this game will provide you with 3 years of endless entertainment. I just hope they learned their lesson about DLC's making previous content obsolete. In my mind that was the worst thing bungie did in D1. Would be nice to log in halfway through year 2 and have 2-3 raids to choose from plus maybe another "horde" type mode.

From the look of things Destiny 2 won't be that much different in terms of how the game plays or the activities we are presented with - meaning that it will just be more of the same stuff. Hence, if you're still enthusiastic about the franchise you're going to love if. And if you've moved on you're probably going to get bored fast - assuming you return in the first place.

Here's the thing, you are bound to turn any first person shooter into a mess with three years worth of updates, nerfs , buffs, netcode changes, etc... That's why most shooters tend to have a 1-2 year life cycle, trying to constantly add more content and keep it balanced is impractical.

I think they will ruin D2 just like they did with D1 over time. Great game I wont deny that and I too have many hours logged but I agree with you D1 has been a failure in so many ways. I look to Exotics that are worthless and when your rare and legendary guns are used 90% more than exotics then you have failed miserably lol

Destiny 2 will be the same. Minimal content with extreme repetition. Many desticles don't like hearing this because they know it will be nothing special and you're ruining their excitement by mentioning it. Right now it's all speculation but I feel with how it's been going for three years now it's not going to be a dramatic change of creation. It's probably going to feel like a large DLC more than anything else. The last thing is yeah, destiny players have wasted a great deal of their time and life with this game. You've been literally staring at a screen cut off from the world pressing buttons for months......straight....
