Imo, Destiny would be better if the PvP was a stand-alone aspect. All weapons were normalized, light didn't matter. And PvE wouldn't be nerfed when they did a weapon balance. Sort of like halo, the campaign was separate from PvP, and they didn't impact each other. Just my opinion, as someone who can't stand Destiny PvP anyway.

  • I think that completely separating pvp and pve to something like halo would be terrible. There's a nice feeling that comes along with having a weapon drop in a strike or from an engram and being able to go right to the crucible and use it. We'd have to switch to something like a cod type loadout system with set weapons and that's just too bland. Destiny mixes pvp and pve well, they just balance them terribly

  • I agree. PVP would be better off as a "stand alone" extra. Unfortunately Bungie have already said they don't agree with that concept. Thier argument is you should be able to use the loot you obtain in PvE in crucible and not be forced to rely on a "stock standard" selection of pvp only weapons. I think that's a cop out excuse personally as I'm sure they could design something that PVP players would be happy with.

It's an opinion that actually worked and made people from both fences (minus a few loophole exploiters) quite happy in DCUO. PvP and PvE weren't always separate there.
Approach was a little different, though. They just made entirely separate gear sets for each environment, and one gearset was like running naked in the other environment, and light level mattered everywhere with exception of a legends arena. So even with twice the grind for people who enjoyed pvpve as a whole, they were happy. That says a lot.
Addressing that and connection issues would make people throw even more money at the screen, but oh well.

  • I personally enjoyed the setup that Mass Effect 3 (and now Andromeda) have, where it's the same gear, just different sandboxes.
