"We deserve options."
Why? You could offer that you're paying for a game and you expect options in a game you're paying for. However, you've been given up front knowledge prior to purchase of how said game will function with respect to this issue. That said, you don't actually deserve anything. There is no quantifiable limit or expectation to what should be included in the game, only what you are willing to pay for. Your entitlement mentality, and others like you, is a disgusting quality both in the gaming world and in civil society.
"Creating a game for kids"
This title has a T rating, meaning it's made for players 13+, so it's no surprise that elements of the game may be centered around a playerbase of a lower age than an M rated game. I would personally expect that more people 17+ play this game than 13-17 age range, nonetheless, they have to appeal to the market they're aiming for. I doubt it's being made completely for children, but it's also not holding an M rating, so it's not being made exclusively for adults either.
As others have mentioned, there are optimal builds for each subclass and even subsets of those optimal builds for PVE vs PVP. In my mind, bungie will likely take this in mind and create optimal PVE and PVP builds for each, creating an easier gap for entry in both sides of content. Also, it reduces the "knowledge" barrier regarding builds. This in particular, is likely an adaptation for casual players, but nonetheless is a redeeming quality, rather than a negative one. As a hardcore destiny player with thousands of hours played, and really the only game I've played for nearly 3 years, I am glad to see that bungie is more inclusive to the casual player. Many of those I used to play other games with dropped destiny due to the time required to grind this game for success.
Overall, this game isn't about appealing to one demographic or another, about fulfilling all the components of a traditional MMO, or about specific desires of a portion of any particular playerbase. Destiny 2 is about a journey, for as many people to share in as possible, and in my mind, there's nothing wrong with that. Sure, that may bring about limitations for a certain number of players, and maybe aspects will change based on the player feedback as in D1.
Until then, the endless complaints about tiny fragmented pieces of the game, are simply unnecessary. Either buy it or don't. But no one really cares about your bitching.

"Thank you daddy actibungie for taking away all those confusing builds. All those choices made my head hurt. Please tell me which weapons to use and how to hold my controller next"
-
Why is everyone taking what he said so literally. By "deserve" he means that based on everything Bungie has done, the best option would be to increase the amount of options to create a wider range of customization. This would improve upon the customization of destiny 1 and blow the current system out of the water. "Deserving" of everyone that played since Bungie has done some questionable decisions in the past. Everyone takes it literally and gets so ass hurt for some reason
-
I meant it literally lol.
-
Why do you defend bungie so hard ? I guarantee you aren't over 21
-
I'm 28, nice try though. I understand how business works, as I own one. I also understand how appealing to the masses work, see point 1.
-
You're an idiot. Appealing to the masses will kill this game. It can't compete pvp wise with games such as battlefield or call of duty. Wake up
-
It doesn't need to compete, because it completely out classes them. Thus the reason people are still playing trials 3 years after this game was released.
-
Destiny has hardly any people playing. That's fact
-
Fact? Here's the facts: nearly 600k players played yesterday. That's nowhere near dead. http://destinytracker.com/
-
Are you out of you mind? Out classes ? Call of duty ww2 is going to be huge. Wake up
-
And it will be over in a year, just like every other one.
-
And by the time WWII is over Anthem will come out and people can have all the customization they want… that is if the game is as awesome as it looked at E3 showing.
-
Shadow, you aren't wrong there. Anthem looks EPIC

Oh yeah baby! Lol

If only the forums had half the logic thus guy has
-
Thanks man, appreciate the kind words.
-
Well sorry if I expect a lot of effort put into games.
-
LOL. As if I don't? You're just holding expectations for something that is a desire and not a requirement. The game will have countless hours of effort put into it, and will be an evolving product just like D1. That's just how it's going to work.
-
Well if you take everything as it is and don't ask for more then everything would be the same.
-
It's not about asking for more, my post is about all the completely useless bitching.

Edited by Smough: 6/21/2017 8:12:34 PMBut it's not all useless, and most of it is completely reasonable. You can't blame people for not liking the all 4v4 game modes, or the weapon and subclass changes, and especially p2p which is despised by a lot of the community. Of course most of it won't be fixed right away and may not change at all, but if we can get it through bungie's head that people don't want it they might not make these dumb design decisions in the future. Almost all criticism is good for a game, whining however is not. But I haven't seen as many whiners, just people voicing their opinions.

Just because Bungie is focused on their own pvp archetype outside of traditional 6v6, doesn't make it bad or wrong. And it may be a better fit for destiny, considering the way our abilities, supers, and weapons work are like no other game out there. Until you've played it, you can't really have a solid opinion. "Dumb design decisions" Again, your opinion, and not objective fact. I'm guessing you're in your late teens, you're mature enough to admit logical errors, but not smart enough to stop making them. "Almost all criticism is good for a game." Wildly untrue. Many players hold a variety of different viewpoints about a game, and criticisms some have of a game may change aspects that other players really enjoy. Such as all the complaints and arguments over shotguns and snipers, that ended up with this worthless sidearm meta currently. If you love the sidearm meta, and are happy with this change, you are proving my point. I find it terrible, but others may really enjoy it. Opinions vary. Ultimately you decide to show whether you like a game and it's content through your dollars. If you enjoy it, you pay for it. If you don't, you won't. And developers listen to pain in their pocketbooks more than anything said on community forums.

I'm guessing you're in your late teens, you're mature enough to admit logical errors, but not smart enough to stop making them.[/quote] Ok I'm sick of this. People can make their own opinions just because theirs is different from yours doesn't make them stupid. Everyone on here brings nothing to the table. "This guy said something I don't agree with. Since it sounds dumb to me, I'm going to tell him he's probably in his teens. That will surely get me somewhere." Heads up, it won't. I'm tired of people saying, "you said this, so you must be [insert age here]." That statement adds nothing new. All it says is that you get butthurt to others opinions that differ from yours. You end up looking like the child because instead of adding valid points, you attack them with their age range. As if that's some sort of grand comeback. Find the facts, argue with reason. Stop with this childish crap. I'm tired of grown men/women attacking people of simply because of a difference of opinion. I know I'm reiterating a lot here but it's getting pretty old and doesn't help you. Also everyone makes mistakes. Everyone messes up logically, grammatically, mentally, physically. Everything. We all make mistakes, so calling someone out for making them only makes you look like an asshole
