Streamlining...?

I don't mind either.

Yes, yes I know I'm quite late to the subject but I really want to discuss this and get a discussion out with the community. So with the drastically increased gameplay showings of Destiny 2 and many channel showcases, we've seen the new setup for destiny 2 class skill trees. And I must say, I am not impressed. Destiny showed a great balance between a rather simple but still 100% customizable skill tree that defined your character's abilities and really gave you your own style of playing. However, with these new streamlined subclass skill trees for Destiny 2, we can't get that. Here are my BIGGEST concerns for the decision to streamline. 1. PvP will be defined in one phrase. "Ah, predicted that!" With what we know currently, each class gets to choose from only 2 streamline ability sets. I honestly worry this will make combat uncomfortably predictable in PvP. 2. The lack of customization opportunity is... well... kind of boring. Don't get me wrong. I love Destiny and I mean absolutely no offense with the word boring. However, it is the most fitting word I could come up with for the streamline concern. Without being able to customize and enjoy your own spin on a subclass, it could just get boring because you know exactly what your abilities will be and how they will synergize. Yes, maybe the synergy IS there, and the abilities ARE good, but so is any other build that Destiny players could come up with if we had a free skill tree to customize. 3. The binary gameplay rises and conquers the fresh and unique gameplay I just feel like Bungie stooped the metaphorical balance beam of "simple" and "but unique" and went WAY too far onto the simple side. It just feels like the new tree will be... well, binary. It's as if we were told "Here's four abilities, go use em', bud." Wouldn't we at least ask, "Well... are there any more...? Can I customize and switch them up a bit...?" All in all, I think most of Destiny 2 looks unique and fresh, and I like that, and I think most of the community likes that. This new streamline thing just really irked me and I just had to start a discussion. Do you think streamlining should be replaced with a more free skill tree?
