It looks like your question has already been answered for the most part but going to respond just in case. Many codes have an expiration date; it's both a security issue (to keep people that make keygens from being able to eventually use a code) and it also helps to insure that stores don't sell old products when new products are available that are the same or better. Sadly, the retailer you purchased it from sold you a defective product; you'll need to talk to the retailer about getting a refund, because a replacement will not be available. You did waste your money trying to get something so old, but the retailer should be able to give you a refund since they sold you a bad product. Bungie can't help you at all, as they don't offer any form of code replacement, handing out, or exchange. Bungie doesn't sell their product to the consumer; all sales go through retailers, and those retailers are the ones charged with giving out proper working products. Destiny - The Taken King released in September 2015, more than a year ago; many DLC codes expire after a year and very few last 2, even fewer never expire.

Wait... Are we still using strange coins to buy legacy codes?
-
good luck, hopefully you'll get a new code and kick Orix behind.
-
20 pound of what?
-
Your first mistake was
everything. Buying Destiny so late was a mistake
-
You should probably put £ since Americans don't understand
-
Next time try £20.. These americans are easily confused.
-
I just redeemed a taken king code last week, worked fine
-
Get in touch with Activision. Happened to me with a code for CoD DLC and they sent me working one via email after I provided proof of purchase
-
claim it defective? i mean, the product sold to you wasnt what was promised, so its a legitimate grievance.
-
Should have bought it digitally , retailers are terrible , take your issue up with them, nothing to with bungie
-
Happened to my friend. Apparently someone bought it, used the code, and returned it or sold to Amazon. She got screwed out of $60.
-
Who in their right mind would purchase that so close to D2? Waste of money, so 2000 and late ...
-
What was expired? The collector's edition should 3 codes - one for TTK expansion, one for Vanguard weapons pack, and one for Omolon weapons pack. The weapons pack would have expiration dates, but the TTK code shouldn't. If your receipt has the word "new" on it, you should be able to get a new code from your retailer.

You need help... mental help
-
My assumption would be that once the code expires there's no way to renew it or receive another one. EB Games/GameStop and other outlets still sell collectors editions long after release but at discounted prices. They don't control what the contents are or what time restrictions are on them but they can definitely still sell any unsold stock that they might have.

Its all on the disc
-
Should've bought the collection so you get everything, I remember my own surprise when I saw the Iron Gjallarhorn code having an expiration. Just get the digital version and you'll be fine.
-
Did you but it for a different console? You have a 400 light character and I can't imagine why you would buy the game twice.
-
Contact the pace you bought it from. You're more likely to get help that way.
-
Bungie can't give you a new code, this is an issue you'll have to take up with your retailer.
