I have had issues off and on with "contacting destiny servers" throughout the three years if playing. However, for the past month, it's a daily problem for me. I've gone through all the forums and bungie's network configuration. I've hardwired my PS4 and set my router up as suggested by bungie. I have 200mps internet service and still get this crap everyday. This is super frustrating! I've come to the conclusion that it's all on bungie at this point. I know D2 is coming in a few months but this has been an issue for years, and something that needs to be fixed. If not now then it blam-ing better not be an issue in D2. I love this game but this crap makes it nearly impossible to enjoy.
