An Address To This Wave of Hysteria

A rundown shack in the middle of The Farm. No sign is visible, but most know that it is a drinking hole for those who cannot cope with the loss of their City. Guardians, both of The Vanguard and The Crucible, sit around tables with a variety of drinks and solutions. Telling each other tales of their escapades and the foes they've slain. Reminiscing of the days where their Light shone their brightest, their armor and weapons the standard of Darkness slaying. They were legends in their own right. But now? They were nothing. They barely made it to The Farm. Their Light, sapped away as the monsters of The Cabal sealed The Traveler behind that massive shield. If not for Lady Hawthorne and the Shard, they would all be dead again. The pain was like a foul stench in the room; some swore under their breath, wondering if all they had done had been for naught. Some Hunters argued that The Traveler had abandoned them, failing to comprehend how something that gave them such power could have been defeated. Some Titans even spat at the mention of Lord Shaxx, cursing his name with the belief that The Crucible was still an ineffective and worthless arena. There was even disparity amongst the Warlocks, who mourned the loss of not just the Vaults of exotic and ancient weapons, but the Archives as well. Thousands, if not millenia, of knowledge was lost in the fire brought by the Red Legion. Such a miserable state... was unbefitting of the harbingers of The Age of Triumph. With that thought in mind, the Awoken Titan behind the bar cleared his throat and asked for attention. When none was given, the Auto Rifle that he grasped and fired into the ceiling took it from them. When all eyes fell to him, the Awoken's blue eyes gazed back with deep ferocity. "Still your tongues, and listen... I have been in this fight for as long as most of you. I have seen the horrors that this universe contains and, with every breath in my body and ounce of Light at my command, I fought them head on. That does not necessarily mean I have fought every evil... but I know you all have. You there, Hunters of The Vanguard! I know you and your comrades have dismantled god-machines, slain prices, destroyed kings and obliterated abominations. The Traveler may have given you the Light, but it was YOU who made it shine the brightest! You dare sully the progenitor of our kind because of a petty ambush? You, Titans of The Crucible! Time and again, I have seen glorious battles and true tests of might between your kind. You have shown us all feats of power and now... you speak of not feeling as connected to the battle as you once were? What petty foolishness! It has never stopped you before and will not stop you now... and you, Warlocks of The Archives! I know you deeply miss the Grimoire. It was our source of knowledge, our home for the grand stories of the world around us. But you act like lost sheep! For Guardians who desire knowledge and a deeper understanding of the universe, you sure panic at the first sign of the unknown! I know this has been hard on all of us. This... change, if you will. But I will not stand here and listen to you all bicker and moan because we lost a single fight. I will not have you throw away your oaths because you do not understand how we lost, why The Crucible is not the grand spectacle it has been or whether or not we will regain the grand lore of our history. A time will come when you will shrug off the chains of defeat and find new ways to smite those Red Legion monsters! A time will come when The Crucible will become even more glorious, no matter the size! A time will come when all of the universe's secrets will return to us and we will have a new method to archive them for all to learn from! It is not today that this day will come. But it is coming, all the same. So, do away with your fears, fellow Guardians. Stop this hysterical madness of "ifs" and "maybes". Be vigilant and patient. The day will come... and then, only then, will you truly know the way of things." The Titan looked at each of his fellow Guardians, dead in the eye as he fell silent. He did not know if they listened. He did not even know if they even heard him correctly. But, to him, something had to be said. He placed the Auto Rifle back behind the counter and returned to the polishing of his drinking glasses, a deep frown upon his blue face. The time will come. The Guardians will just have to wait.
TL;DR Version: Stop making assumptions about the game when we do not have all of the information.
