They give us books for almost every update now. Why not just have a Grimoire book in the game. I get your point but I 100% agree with everything Byf said in his rant video about this. Even if he is just saying it because of his YouTube channel, its true. Taking grimoire out of the game was a bad idea, and feels like bungie shot themselves in the foot.

1 ReplyFor the second one literally no one said that. No one thought about and that's just false. For the first point there is a reason why it's not a good idea to remove the grimoire. Players asked for the lore to be in game and never asked for the grimoire to be removed.

And when you asked them to give you food, they gave it to you, but are no longer giving you water. And it's human nature to hate losing something more than not having it in the first place. There's no excuse to have taken the grimoire out just to give us a story in game as well (Which we should of had anyway). Same with the crucible, people wanted balance, yes, but at what point did anyone say we only need 4v4's (Though, I'm not sure if this is the confirmed overall team number). Yes people asked for it, but people liked rumble, 6v6's, 3v3's, 2v2's just as much. Why did those have to go for only one more? So the anger isn't directed at what they're giving us, it's the fact that it's an uneven exchange in what they're taking away for no reason (That they've given anyway). Bungie is acting like a kid you've asked to stop talking so loudly (because they're screaming) and then they start whispering quietly to the point of almost being silent just to spite you. In other words, it's a bit of smartass logic.

10 RepliesDude... you're simplistically thinking. Bungie hasn't done shet about the lore. There are literally hundreds of pages of lore in the grimoire. Do you think in the span of 2 years they added all that in the game? HELL NO. That's the problem. They are now cutting stories just like they cut content. You don't understand that because you probably don't even care about the lore. They are most likely going to dumb it alllll the way down for casuals and cut out epic moments. Bungie had 10 years working on Destiny and they decided not the add the lore in game. That means: - Needed animations - Needed scenes - Needed characters - More places (not just 4 freaking places) - More weapons/the same weapons - [insert etc.] Half of those things aren't possible...because you know what? Those guns, probably characters, and places ALREADY AREN'T IN DESTINY 2 LMAO that's why it's a HUGE fail/mistake. That basically confirmed they cut the story, characters, guns, etc. to add something that should have already been in game in the first place while they were animated, while they were brain storming, while they were making concept art. However, it could just be the lore for the present, but then that still wouldn't make sense. I rather they tell us that "... the Warlock Archives all got burned and blowed up so previous history is lost guardian..."

You have absolutely no idea what people are complaining about. We didn't want the grimoire gone. We wanted the grimoire in game through a sort of codex. We also wanted more story and lore details in game. Scannable are good and all but they won't and can't give the stories that the grimoire does. Try explaining the BoS or the Thorn and Last Word story in game. It can't be done. We wanted little snippets of lore in game which leads to the deeper lore of the grimoire. Bungie has gotten rid of that deep lore entirely by the looks of it, dumbed it down, and spread it out through things we will have to collect, with some being completely random drops. Bungie mistook our desire for an in game codex for wanting the grimoire gone altogether, and the lore spread so thin it's hard to collect and offers no deep understanding.

Make no mistake about it, they only have their interest in mind. Anything that will make them less relevant will bother them. The same goes for streamers. With Guided Games if you have helpful clans in game willing to help people out streamers become less relevant. Many streamers literally built their stream off of Trials, when Trials isn't happening, their stream is DRY. With Bungie making the game very casual and friendly to new players you will see "content creators" start to speak out against certain things. It's exactly like SBMM, if you believe their beef was lag (which has always been present) then you're lost. SBMM made creating "montages" and other content more challenging and it also made them look more like a regular player. I promise, at some point, you will see them begging for some changes regarding how casual friendly D2 will be.

They'll be fine one way or another as Bungie depends on them to be their free marketing team and BS suppliers. It's one gigantic circle jerk where they both make money and you sit there drooling on yourself while giving them money whenever they ask.

I don't get why people are like "bungie don't care about x part of community" because they do, chances are they will have cards for destiny one stuff and they have added lore stuff to each item, the lore tubers will find stuff to make videos on, the mysteries and thoughts about who a person could be or new lore or why a lost sector boss ended up where it is. still i wish the lore youtubers would stop complaining about how theres no advanced lore when there will be.

2 RepliesPeople are mistaking losing the Grimoire for losing the lore. Keep in mind, most games with extensive lore has some sort of in game library to view lore and enrich the story (which is the purpose of lore, enrich a present story). For a more recent example, look at Bethesda games and how they do it; they put the lore in Skyrim by setting up an actual library of hand customized books for the players to read at their leisure. Bungie probably has some sort of built in [i]something[/i] in place where lore buffs can access the lore and not have it be intrusive to the new story content coming our way.

1 ReplyHonestly, Teftyteft is pretty cool. I thought streamers were stupid, but I started putting his steam up to have something to listen to during homework, and I now like the stream. He's so laid back and casual. Hell, he did a wrath were he asked everyone in the group to use dragons breath. Sure, they didn't two phase aksis, but it was crazy to watch.
