What subclass will we recieve
Hi all,
We all know that in destiny 2 we are going to lose our light and powers, but does anyone think it will be the same subclasses we retain or a different one.
Are their gonna be 3 subclasses available at first 1 for each class then additional are unlocked at certain levels or events in the story, like in destiny 1.
I think we will lose our current powers and regain 1 of the new subclasses from the reveal trailer, this is due to them saying, (paraphrasing) guardians will venture to new worlds and learn new powers to defeat ghaul, and we won't have access to our old subclasses until we defeat ghaul and free the traveler.
What are everyone elses thoughts?

2 RepliesI dunno. I thought as a Warlock I just fly to "Io" (stupid name of a not stupid Jupiter moon) and become a Damnblade. Then fly back to mama Earth and kick Dominus Ghaul's and his Red Legion's ass.

1 ReplyThere was a Reddit post with leaks prior to the D2 reveal stating the return of the TTK subclasses. I wonder if tether and nova bomb will be turned into roaming supers like FoH.

We have no idea. We know that everyone is getting at least two subclasses back. The second for Warlock is voidwalker, you can clearly see it in use during parts of the stream. What we don't know is when/how we will unlock more, which we will start with, or if we will get the TTK subclasses back right away. None of them were anywhere to be seen the entire stream.

Only subclasses we don't know will stick around are the Taken King ones. The original 3 (striker, gunslinger, voidwalker) are all sticking around but will have been tweaked, example being strikers get multiple slams and Hunters apparently getting 6 GG shots. Then the other original subclasses are being replaced by these news ones (defender to sentinel, bladedancer to arcstrider and sunsinger to dawnblade).

3 RepliesClasses we will have back from d1: gunslinger, striker and voidwalker(confirmed since it was spotted on trailer) New subclasses that we have seen already: cap america titan , dawnbreaker and arcstrider Now , i can assure you guys there will be a third subclasses for each class, my theory is : Facts:There is two empty subclasses slots in the interface if you pay attention , and no , they will not come in dlc because the space is already there, if new subclasses were to come only in a dlc , they would add the new space only when the dlc is released(as seen in d1 with ttk) And , in d1 we had 6 new subclasses vanilla game ,in d2 we have seen only 3 new ones , there is little chance they are going to repeat 6 subclasses from the first game. Also , they were dlc content so it would be very strange to repeat things from a dlc of the previous game. Theory:In the ttk we won our new subclasses by going in the respective classes planets and getting the subclass with the light within the planet.In the worlds reveal trailer from d2 , you can actually note that each planet has a class and their respective vanguard representant ( such as ikora and warlock in io, zavala and titan in titan (lol) and cayde and hunter in nessus). This part in the trailer the bungie guys say that the each representant is going to this planets because they want to search for their light again , as they have lost it, and so do us.So the thing is , there are class specific missions where we go to our respective planets after we lose our light with our vanguard leaders to help each other in getting it again. Yes , in could win the 3 new subclasses already revealed, in this missions , but as bungie already hyped up them and we will get to play with one of in the beta(dawnbraker) i doubt these will be the subclasses that we will get right away.

I heard there was a fragment of the Traveller on Earth and we use that to get our light back Whether we get access to a new sub-class or old ones - don't know I hope we have to do a separate quest for each one not just get access by levelling up

4 RepliesI'm wondering if the subclasses that they didn't reveal (i.e. Void and solar hunter) will be identical to destiny 1 or if we will get new ones. Because we saw cayde use the golden gun in game and it even generated orbs, but we also saw zavala use a ward of dawn too, and we know that got replaced with the shield. Will warlock's keep their nova bomb, or will that get replaced too?

7 RepliesWe're keeping Gunslinger, Striker, and presumably Voidwalker. We're getting Arcstrider, Sentinel, and Dawnblade. We're PRESUMABLY losing Bladedancer, Defender, and Sunsinger. Nothing else is known for sure at this point.

Personally IMHO , going off the stuff we've seen so far, the 3 sub classes on the reveal are altered or revamped versions of what we have now,and it's all guess work for the rest
