So with no evidence to back this up, I believe that if the speaker isn't dead or doesn't show up in vanilla D2, he will show up in the Osiris DLC. Given the connection between the speaker and Osiris, even with their dislike of each other, it could be possible that Osiris did what he did during twilight gap as far as "being everywhere at once" to jump in and pull the speaker out of harms way. Again this is only my theory for a game we have little information about
-
Nooooo the Speaker had been confirmed as GARY THE NEW RAID BOSS
-
Osiris IS the Speaker bro
-
No way Osiris got from the reef, to orbit, then down to the tower in time to save anyone with those load times.
-
He showed up, bagged the speaker then left
-
I thought that Osiris disagreed with the speaker I don't think he actually hated him
-
(Speculation) I think when saint 14 went to find Osiris he convinced him to stay and come back when the need arose and saint 14 convinced Osiris to save the speaker.
-
I believe the speaker is alive for the same reason I knew all the vanguard characters were returning. The dawning brought new dialogue for cayde zavala and ikora. I didnt think bungie would bring them in and pay them for such minor work, instead I believed they were already in studio recording for destiny 2 and did the new dialogue for the dawning while working on destiny 2. Same goes for the speaker who had new dialogue in age of triumphs. So no doubt in my mind he is returning.
-
If Osiris were to save his ass then he would have to be acompanied by Saint-14. It's unlikely though, he either ran like a bitch or was captured.
-
I would love an expanded story of Osiris and Saint-14.

Theory: Osiris is the raid boss in the Osiris DLC. You kill him, rather than getting a raid specific weapon you gain back better abilities and every weapon you own handles better in some way. You can choose to side with Osiris during the DLC, then Osiris asks Gary to destroy every weapon in your new vault except sidearms and the only ability you are left with is fusion grenades. Flaming sword - gone. Pole blade dancer- gone. Captain America void frisbee of death - gone. But you can continue to play Trials of Osiris. This is how Bungie will separate PVP and PVE...
-
So you just made this up and that's all you could come up with?
-
I read "Orisa saved the speaker."
-
You know what's -blam!-ed. Battlefield 1 runs smooth and beautifully on console with 60 fps with 16v16 and destiny 2 can't run 60 fps with 4v4. What the -blam!-?!
-
The Speaker is the one who disabled the sensors and guns on the walls.
-
I honestly hope he did intervene because I was thinking the Red Legion captured The Speaker
-
I just hope that DLC isn't PvP based. Better be PvE.
-
Osiris is in a constant state of radiance. So with that knowledge...anything is possible.
-
Where is eris morn?
-
Ok, per the gameplay shown. Fact one stated, the speaker is gone Fact two stated, the speaker is behind the cabal invasion Fact three stated, "I am gonna kill that bastard" believe it was the warlock making the comment. So why the thoughts of saving him? We would be hunting him not saving him.
-
Though then again, the traveler is saved because we beat the new raid. Lol. What "Garry" puts on the traveler we eventually get rid of it. Lol.
-
I hope that smug prick is dead. Should've told me that story you didn't think I wanted to hear, punk.

Interesting theory +1 intenet

Edited by Elden Lord Archon: 5/20/2017 4:58:23 AMSounds cool, but I'd rather have a mission or strike where the Cabal are holding the speaker hostage and you need to escort him out of there safely.
-
I find it more likely that he has been captured. He is one of the few Earthlings that would be worth taking captive.
-
Ye and then they travel back in time and the speaker kills osiris before he invents trials no trials no nerf yipeeee. [Joking]
