I never cared about those dumbass things, but now everyone has them and is making memes about them and today, some girl in a shopping centre asked me to buy one. You know those annoying people that ask you to support charities? It was that but for -blam!-ing spinners.
Can someone explain this? Am I just old? I'm not even 20 yet and I feel like the world has changed so much that people can gain joy from such stupid shit.

4 RepliesFrom time to time, there are these things called "fads". What tends to happen with "fads" is that people tend to latch on or show great enthusiasm towards something, and temporarily, that something becomes popular. "Fads" don't last very long, however.

They're just amazing lol
-
1 Replyonly autists likes them i don't see what's so fun about it.

Why play with a fidget spinner when you can play with your balls? 🤔

7 RepliesYa know, I'm 37 and I've said that with just about every fad in my lifetime. Reebok Pumps? Nike Pumps? Hypercolor shirts, Crystal Clear Pepsi, Right Said Fred, McDonalds Pizza, The Macarena, pogs, pagers... I could go on and on. They'll die off, but it'll be awhile.

3 RepliesEdited by Eat My Acid: 5/19/2017 4:36:01 PMYou sound like one of those special snowflakes that love saying. "OMG LOOK AT ME IM NOT APART OF MY GENERATION" or "I DONT UNDERSTAND THEM" Your kind are almost as bad as vegans.... actually, worse probably

It's actually really handy. Good for helping you focusstim. Ever been focusing on something and, say, drumming a pencil or clicking a pen? Same thing.

They are nothing more than a tool that helps with stress, anxiety, and a couple other things. The trend of them being toys is pretty pathetic because it makes those who got them for the right reasons look like children. I have one myself and I'm 36. I use mine at my job for stress and anxiety though which my job tends to cause a lot of.

I don't get it either, I'm a security guard at an amusement park and when I'm at a metal detector literally every kid has one

3 RepliesI am twice your age & I find them relaxing. I used to just roll an old poker chip through my fingers.

This is another Pokemon Go trend by you tubers hyping it up.

Why play with Fidget Spinners when you can play with Beyblades
-
Newest trend that is both trendy to hate on and participate in. It'll die in a week probably.
-
7 RepliesIt's supposed to be a method of relaxing those with autism and I think ADHD as well, but for some reason it's popular.
-
I don't know or care for spinners either so I just keep walking and move on with my -blam!-ing life.

2 RepliesI have one of those little cubes to curb a bad habit of picking at my face or biting my nails when I'm watching shows and such.

Something to do at work when it's slow and I won't get yelled at because we sell them
-
Just shows how people don't have their own minds and have to do whatever the majority does.
-
Yeah fads these days suck. Tamagotchis, Pogs, Yoyos, these things meant something. Kids today don't know they're born.

Im planning to get one because ive always had problems with fidgetting. Often results in getting in trouble for drumming with two pencils in class.
