Best All Time Crucible Weapons

So I was just browsing through some old crucible games on YouTube and it just gave me the idea to make a top 5 of what I think are the best all time crucible weapons, this includes weapons before they were nerfed. This list includes exotics only as some legendaries needed certain rolls to be as good as they were, paired with the fact that there are many that were really good. 5. Year 1 Thorn This gun being a 2 shot to the head speaks for itself. The range, target acquisition, and that relentless lingering damage made this weapon a monster. Also a very cool looking and sounding weapon. If Sun Singers were a weapon, this would be it. 4. Year 1 Last Word This weapon is basically a handheld heavy machine gun, which is could actually beat out heavy machine guns if used properly. For a gun with high impact at a insane rate of fire, it had a lot of range and target acquisition. Even though it kicked like a mule the reticle would drop back to its original firing position so it really made no difference. Pair that with the fact that you could 2 shot from the hip if they're both precision shots (and even sometimes zoomed in due to a broken mechanic) this gun was a formidable weapon and go to for many guardians including myself in the crucible. If Blade Dancers were a weapon, this would be it. 3. Year 1 Suros Regime Auto rifles once ruled the land of crucible, unfortunately they have been the last choice of a go to weapon for quite some time, you can blame that on this beast of a weapon. The Suros Regime was essentially a scout rifle with an automatic high rate of fire. Yes compared to their auto rifles it had the slowest rate of fire, but no other auto rifle could kill an opponent with 5 shots to the head from basically across the map, hell even scout rifles couldn't for the most part, at least not as quick as the Suros could. Pair that you with incredible target acquisition and a perk that allowed you to regain your health immediately in the middle of a gun fight and you have a weapon that made you feel indestructible. And when I say regain your health, as soon as glass half full kicked in you had a very high chance that each bullet that landed would heal you. If Void Walkers were a weapon, this would be it. 4. Year 1 Vex Mythoclast Surprised? I'm sure many of you expected this to be number 1, how ever in my opinion it falls short by a small margin. That being said, this weapon was an absolute bully. A primary fusion rifle that did precision damage.. and A LOT of it. In a time when fusion rifles were a formidable special weapon, this weapon was godly. As most guardians put it, this weapon would "melt" its opponents. At the time it also held over 50 rounds in the magazine, with an almost instant reload time compared to other weapons. Zen moment works very well with this weapon, as landing the first shot pretty much starts an almost magnetic effect where this weapon would just shoot like a later beam and make hitting its target effortless. Adding crowd control to the weapon just made clearing out crowds even easier. In my opinion this was the best over all primary weapon in the game at the time do it being so powerful in both PvP and PvE. Definitely one of my favorite weapons of all time and I still use it regularly till this day. If Sun Breaker and Gun Slinger made a baby that was a weapon, they would probably name it Vex Mythoclast. Honorable Mentions Year 2 Red Death Year 2/3 Mida Multitool Year 1/2/3 Gjallarhorn Year 1/2/3 Truth Year 1 Invective Year 2 Hawkmoon And finally my pick for the best Crucible weapon of all time.... Year 1 PLAN C! This gun... this gun.. was absolutely amazing. I know this will have ALOT of controversy, but this weapon had a lower TTK (time to kill) than any other weapon (besides snipers and shot guns) in the game. Yes it would beat out a Vex every time if the wielder knew how to use the gun correctly. A fusion rifle with a super fast charge rate, that could kill someone 30 feet away instantly. At the time special ammo was plentiful making it easy to run around with this gun for an entire match without the slightest worry of running out of ammo. It's insane range paired with its stability essentially making this weapon shoot a laser beam, was an absolute brute in the crucible. It's plan c perk literally made this weapon easy to switch to and pull the trigger and MERK who ever was in your path. It was pretty much a Matador 64/Felwinter's Lie.. with more range and a faster firing rate. It had such strong target ac making hitting targets a breeze. I remember at the time not many people had this weapon or knew about it. When I had gotten completely obliterated by it a few times, I despised it. Then I decided to use it, I was hesitant when I had first got it because I didn't use fusion rifles and wasn't good with them. How ever.. a little bit of practice and I was literally on top of almost every Crucible match at the time. Getting serious kill streaks with this lone gun. If a Storm Caller and a Striker made a baby which was a weapon, they would name it Plan C. This was my list, would love to see everyone else's opinions also! I also have an idea for a possible exotic for bungie in destiny 2. A weapon that keeps a targets health from recovering for a few extra seconds is say around 3 to 5. If also make it a slower rate of fire weapon, either a scout or hand cannon. Perk kicking in Only on precision hits. During that few seconds it would also shut down an opponents abilities excluding jumps. Just my little tid bit. Let me know what you guys think and what your top weapons would be.

  • This should be best all time crutches! AM I RIGHT FELLAS?!!! Lol In all seriousness it was disgusting how easy it was to kill with these guns. At least thats what i heard. I migjtve dabbled in a last word for a quest but for me it was always epilogue, doctrine, full auto secret handshake, and 4th horseman.....i miss those days

  • Actually, one step better is the Telesto. When ammo was plentiful, you could shoot from around a corner, shards hit, opponent runs away and explodes. It was beautiful and fun. Now, when I need special kills, it is my go to weapon. Heck, you could miss, hit a wall and still kill a weekend opponent.

  • Year 1 hawkmoon dude. Best pvp weapon in the game. Two head shot kill and on very rare occasion, insta kill with a headshot from anywhere on the map.

#1) Year 1 Pocket Infinity #2) Year 1 The Last Word #3) Year 1 Felwinters Lie Shotgun #4) Year 1 Jolder's Hammer heavy machine gun #5) Year 1 Thorn Vex wasn't widely available and got nerfed quick but would be number 1. If you want exotics only simply remove the purps from the list. Come at my list :P
Notice a Year 1 trend? Sigh... RIP fun version of Destiny
• If you think Plan C was better than year 1 vanilla Vex Mythoclast, you clearly have not played PvP in vanilla Destiny. It was literally unmatched, 56 round magazine, 56 damage to the head, 45 damage o the body, near unlimited range and supremely stable.

If this list is going off of the MOST OP and not the MOST NOTORIOUS, this would be my list: (I'm basing this on the combined factors of OP-NESS In general, and also how OP the weapons were compared to everything else at the time) 10. Yr 2 mida multi tool (brief reign) - there was a moment in yr 2 before it was SLIGHTLY nerfed when mida had a reign that barely got it on this list. And I mean BARELY. It was undoubtedly uncontested for a very short period of time. Enough to snag the last spot on the list. 9. Wormwood (post ammo patch, pre ammo nerf) - was uncontested for a little bit, unless you were a no land beyond demon. I'll admit, you could counter sidearms by playing at range or being a fearless shotgunner, but it was (and still is) so so so easy to get short-mid range kills with wormwood. 8. Yr 3 party crasher (pre-patch). - I could never roll a perfect party crasher, but the one I had was close enough. It was nasty. Much blood was shed. 7. Doctrine of passing. - I really wanted to put my favorite weapon of all time higher, but there were too many competitive weapons during year 2. That being said, I still believe doctrine was the most OP gun in year 2, and I will stand by it. 6. Felwinter's lie (house of wolves) - no one wants to revisit the reign of felwinter's lie. But weapon rerolling was pretty fun. 5. Yr 1 suros regime. - my favorite time in destiny pvp was the reign of suros. No one enjoyed this time more than I did. 4. Yr 1 Last Turd. - I hate this gun. Always have, always will. It's been a solid contender for #1 weapon for a very long time, but the year 1 version was a monster. 3. Yr 1 Pocket infinity. - wow. That is all. Just wow. 2. Yr 1 Thorn. - there were a couple of guns that were absolutely competitive with this weapon, but the length of thorn's reign atop the charts was the longest without a nerf of any OP weapon in destiny's short history, earning it the #2 spot. 1. Pre-patch Vex. - sry, but the ease of using this weapon at the very beginning of destiny makes it the undeniable winner. The easiest to use killing machine bungie has ever spawned. Nothing could compete, unless you had a pocket infinity and some luck. Honorable mentions: Red death (short reign yr 1) - had a brief moment of power, close to making the list. No lad beyond (yr 3) - really don't want to call this "OP" because it really does require a good amount of skill to use, but it is absolutely deadly in the right hands. Hawksaw (yr 2 and yr 3) - it's never really been "the only competitive gun" at any point, but it's had plenty of moments where it was the best choice. Nirwen's mercy (brief reign yr 2) - almost wanted to rank this weapon in the top 10, but I felt that there were other weapons during nirwen's reign that were very closely competitive. Don't get me wrong, there was a period where this nasty dog was #1 and it was a monster, but there were just a lot of competitors at the time. This weapon is now in arguably one of the most useless weapon classes in the game. It is alright, but is outperformed by so many different weapons. If there was a rank for "weapons that have fallen far from grace" I guarantee this and thorn would be fighting for #1. Thousand yard stare/longbow (yr 2) - I hate snipers. I hate the guns, and I hate the people that use them. But credit is due where credit is due. They were very easy to use, even for a guy like me who very rarely is not running a shotgun.

Sunsingers in Y1 WERE a weapon. They could actually do something. Hawkmoon should be up there with thorn and TLW for PS4 Y1 players though.

                          • Best of all time is difficult to measure because you want to factor in so many things. While day 1 mythoclast will be my choice for the most op gun in destiny's history, I also want to factor in a weapon's longevity. Last word and multi tool are 2 weapons that come to mind when thinking about longevity of use because they have never really been "bad". They've always been competitive and have always been contending for the #1 spot. The most versatile weapon would absolutely be multi tool. While thorn's reign was unbearable and long, it only had one period of time where it was even competitive, but any period outside that time has been nearly unusable. However, the argument in thorn's case is that the gap between thorn and everything else was so far that there were only maybe 2 weapons that could even compete with thorn. It's hard to pick a #1 for greatest weapon ever in destiny. Too much to factor in.
