Honestly, what incentive is there to return? I've played Destiny since the Alpha on PS4. I finally stopped after the update that brought us the Year 3 Icebreaker. Traded the game in towards Mass Effect: Andromeda. And while I won't deny that I miss Iron Banner. After seeing y'alls business model for the first game, I'm inclined to wait until all the expansions release and just buy the $60 collection in two years. Completely screwed over those of us Day 1 players with that little move. And the game just gets so damn repetitive. Seriously. Convince me I need Destiny 2, cause right now I've got ME:A and Ghost Recon: Wildlands keeping me occupied. And later this year there is Red Dead Redemption 2, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Call of Duty: WW2, and Battlefront 2 that all interest me more than Destiny 2.
Tbh if you don't like the motives don't play the game most destiny players play the game because they enjoy the content. If you say you have other games to interest you then play those games destiny 2 is going to be fun for people and if you don't want to play no ones forcing you to play it.
Also if you don't play destiny why do you still have the app
