As much as I despise PVP and ToO, I have to be brutally honest and say keep trials in D2. This is for two reasons.
1. Like a said, I hate PVP in Destiny, always have, always will. However, I still acknowledge the fact that a large portion of the player base regularly enjoys it. Yes, it wouldn't affect me in the slightest if it all just went away, but do I or anybody else have the right to take an obviously popular aspect of the game away from everybody else? Not really.
2. Lets say the boot was on the other foot. Imagine if PVE dictated the balancing of the entire game and it negatively affected PVP (E.G. a massive shotgun buff for PVE causing total chaos in PVP) . Would you brush it off and say "its a PVE game, theirs nothing wrong", or would you declare "THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, REMOVE PVE NOW"? This is a question that I often find myself tripping over because I simply don't have an answer for it. Do I be hypocritical or do I shoot myself in the foot?
The only reasonable and logical conclusion I come to is that Bungie MUST separate PVE and PVP (Or even go a step further and separate trials from the latter two). PVE and trials can swivel on it for all I care, but as long as Bungie does the sensible thing, then I can live with them.
