i think keeping trials, or some variant of it, only makes sense; it is one of the major draws to the game currently. Trials consistently draws returning players, even if it's only for the weekends.. ( but cmon, how many people are seriously playing purely for the pve content anymore? it's pretty played out at this point) I don think Trials need a a reworking though. the elimination mode gets incredibly stale rather quickly. everyone tries to figure out the absolute fastest way to one hit kill everyone, via lame techniques and strats, cheeses, cheats (which honestly i have not seen too much of. ) and then try to replicate that tactic over and over and over. I have seen some absolutely brilliant plays in this game mode, but more often it seems as though i watch the same match repeatedly. even top tier players are sick of it. they hate that they have to stoop to stickies and icebreaker to win, but that's due to special economy not trials per se. i think that a tiered trials ( or whatever game mode you come up with )would be perfect. if you go flawless (or whatever you want to call the new version) you move up a rank and are placed in a new player pool. this would allow lesser skilled players an opportunity to have at least some fun in the game mode, instead of getting their teeth kicked in constantly, and then never coming back. You could implement different rewards the higher you go up the tiers: emblems, different variants to adept weapons, shaders.... ooooh, a different colored blue nightfall flame the higher you rank. this type of system would allow the crucible slayers to battle it out for the top spot like a martial arts system with belts; noobs don't get to wear black belts do they? and, black belts don't fight white belts in tournaments do they? this would reset weekly, but ranking system that does not reset is also needed!!! this poses a problem to the streamers and carries though doesn't it? for those "carrying " low skill players, it creates the problem of trying to carry them through when they are in the higher ranks of players. i love the carry streams. it's good content and fun to watch. i confess, i don't have an answer to this. i don't want the streamers to get completely shafted ... i like to watch them too. some diversity to the top level pvp games is needed also... elimination over and over gets stale really fast. Mix up the game modes to suit other people. instead of getting rid of trials, expand it to include people who are great at other game modes... you ever watch top tier trials players play something other that trials? trust me they aren't that great all the time.

There are many like me as a matter of fact more players on destiny play pve than pvp.

Edited by Xx_SILENCE_xX__: 5/6/2017 9:21:24 PMthat's fine with me. i like pve too

I disagree, because it truly doesn't affect me one way or the other. I'd like to aspire to the Trials, though, and without the mountaintop, there's nowhere to climb.

Trials is the best part about Destiny
-
I believe Trials should stay. I will say I'm not the best at it at all but it is a lot of fun. It's a great game mode and I know a huge amount of people love it! I do think a good option is the give Trials it's own Meta which not mess with the rest of PVP and PVE. I do see it influencing a lot of the Meta in the game which for sure has caused a big up roar. So I would say keep it but maybe just have its own rules that might affect the way objects work only in Trials.
-
Have fixed load-outs for Trials instead of letting players use their own weapons. You don't have the complaints because one team has been lucky and got good rolls on the latest meta because everyone can chose from the same selection of weapons / perks If one particular set of weapons / perks is over-used or unbalancing the game then stop making them available for Trials in future weeks. No need is change the whole game because of Trials
-
Dont remove it. Fix the -blam!-ing matchmaking
-
Yes I agree OP
-
I love trials, there should be more game modes like it.
-
Trials sucks and the people who play it suck even more. Please remove that cancerous portion of crucible that the vast majority of players despise from destiny 2
-
I like trials even though I'm pretty terrible in comparison to most of the people that play it. My only complaints are the one-sided blowout matches. I know it's supposed to be "competitive" and thats fine, but the most fun matches I've ever had were the ones that were evenly matched, came down to a 4-4 and either side could take the win, even if I end up losing those are fun matches. I dont enjoy wiping a team 5-0 and nobody likes to get wiped out either. I'll likely get all kinds of hate but I feel like trials is the only mode that SBMM should be included. Especially if connection quality is improved for D2.

Don't let Trials control everything nerf wise, and make it more acceptable for all players.

Have it return

Destiny is set a world where humanity is meant to be fighting against multiple alien enemies all of whom use different tactics and weapons that guardians. The whole idea of pvp as a "training" mode for guardians so they are better at fighting the aliens does not make sense Players use different weapons, armour builds, class builds and tactics in pvp that they do in pve. It is not valid as a way to train guardians. In Destiny it should be viewed as a senseless waste of resources and banned by the Vanguard

This is the truth, gold star
-
You're dumb. It's meant as training and in the lore, shaxx has said it has worked and guardians have become stronger. Fighting and losing against a stronger enemy makes you stronger as long as you don't die
-
You get revived in pve as well. You also learn relevant weapons and tactics instead of learning how to fight enemies you will never face in pve
-
No shit. But it's against other strong allies and their tactics and you can learn their tactics. Andnagain, crucible has in lore, made guardians stronger. Don't like crucible? Don't -blam!-ing play it
-
I don't play crucible except where I am forced to play it to complete quests that start in pve
-
Removing Trials of Osiris would be an huge mistake. A great portion of the playerbase returns every weekend to the game just so that they can play this endgame activity with their friends. That been said, there is no denial that it could get some improvements in order to make it more competitive and enjoyable.
