Appreciate the feedback. I will definitely let the devs know how you feel. If you agree or disagree with OP let me know in the comments below.

easy solution: have Matchmaking enabled for trials.. doesnt matter if they lose or get wrecked.. thats what they opted in. BUT in this way you will have some other people in the playlist that are not professional paid streamers. and the overall level will be set to an appropriate level again.. and people can actually try this.. Destinys biggest problem was is and will be the missing group finder tool IN GAME.. and "making friends" doesnt help.. i had over 150 "Friends" accumulated over the years and 99% of the time i was playing with LFG people or streamers when i wanted to raid or PvP in something like ToO.. unless you have a fixed shedule, friends wont help you playing some ToO now and then..

It's been a really toxic game mode, that's driven more people away than the few elite level players that still play it. The game mode needs to be de-sweatified. Don't make streamers the priority, it just ends up hurting your numbers overall. I know plenty of players that didn't invest in last dlcs, that also spent a lot of money on silver btw... All because trials and streamers were the priority over "normal" gamers. You're hurting yourself and the success of the game by not making trials more casual friendly. The lighthouse should not be some "elite club" only thing, any more than raid completions.
-
Drop trials. Add more pve.
-
I think it was better when the matchmaking didn't match you against the same card. Sure you might get a super tryhard team on game 1 but you wouldn't always get it on game 9. I think the random factor made it more apealling for casual players since you could get lucky and play against a bunch of plebs. Now you know to get lighthouse you will have to play some pretty tough teams at some point. This makes the casual players stop play at all which just makes every thing super sweaty and not fun for anyone .
-
Get rid of it! Or don't listen to the cry babies and nerf/buff everything
-
I avoid trials not because of how sweaty and terrible it is but because I'm not a good pvp player. I love doing normal crucible, it can be fun, sometimes I do great and other days I get stomped. HOWEVER, to change weapons because of one game mode is nonsense.
-
I definitely agree with the OP. I am waiting until the gameplay reveal stream to see if I can preorder Destiny 2. If Trials (or a similar mode) exists, then you'll lose a customer.
-
Get rid of it. Go to the LFG forums RIGHT NOW and check out how many paid carry/recovery threads are there. I can't believe there are such strict rules on these forums but their enforcement is literally a joke. I can't remember the last time I went on the LFG forums and did not see such adds. To make it worse the Elo system can be hacked to the point people farm their stats and create this exclusive community of people who think they are so good at the game.
-
I don't care about Trials as much as I agree with Paul Tassi's article in Forbes. I think separating PVP & PVE would be great. Many of the buffs & nerfs are a result of PVP, which affect the PVE players also. Separate the two & keep Trials. Then you can balance independently.

Edited by CapnMark: 5/6/2017 6:59:30 PMI want Trials out because of that pvp designer who told average players to go play strikes. Sorry but why bother playing a game mode that you bought with your own money not let you get some gear? Crazy thinking right? But hey I'm not allowed to get an opinion about Trials so yeah I'll leave it to the folks

Truth.

Edited by piratamorgano: 5/6/2017 6:46:29 PMEhy Cozmo, First of all,it's very kind that someone like you is actually listening to what community feels about trials. Trials are a good idea badly developed imho. They should be more like the iron banner (I mean a 6vs6 mode using like control or any other team death match would be fine). My point is they are strictly reserved to an elite part of destiny gamers and,it's happened before,a part of the game where few players using cheats to get to the lighthouse. I've never been to the lighthouse since I started play destiny, never cared that much actually BUT I'm sure doing some modification to the trials system (as I stated before number of player and game mode) would make trials themselves more interesting and actually desirable for those players, like me, who have never liked the trials game mode. Thanks for listening to this and greatings from an Italian guardian! So yes,I agree with OP,I look forward to see something like trials in destiny 2 but different from what trials are now (too many cheaters and people who actually get paid to carry other players)

Edited by ThisFuknGurl: 5/6/2017 6:28:16 PMI personally won't buy Destiny 2 if ToO [destiny pvp] isn't its own thing. Like not apart of pvp or pve[ balance and what have you]. I wrote a post that got a tone of hate because I dared to come up with an idea that could work for everyone. A few ToO players didn't like it and that's fine, but you cant tell me its not one of pvp biggest issues...besides balance and lag. Lets look at the negative impact players say ToO has on the game= It brings out the worse in players [so do new raids, which is why I don't raid much] Paid carries are still a thing on b.net, and on other website bungie has no control over Balances/nerfs revolve around it, is what most of us think. Ridiculous requirements players have [Elo, good, KD, blood sample(joke), ect] BNG.net had a player on here last week openly saying how he went flawless with out killing or dying in ToO [ he cheated to prove a point I hear]. DDosting That's just a few things I can think of, but anyone who said it is why destiny is still alive is in the minority group of players who play ToO. Look at the number of players playing regular pvp and pve compared to ToO[ yes separate ToO and pvp, they are not the same thing] You can go to the feedback section and see countless post about the impact ToO has on the game and its players.
Please note that this is not the profile I play on.
So like the game Let IT Die
Le....LET IT DIE
The concept of Trials is good. The practice of Trials is terrible. OP is right. If Bungie spent any time on the forums they'd see how toxic the community is when it comes to Trials. It needs a revamp.
-
But But But how streamers going to make Millions if there is no trials?
-
Trials has a place in the game, but its place, and by extension, the place of PvP as a whole, should be separate from PvE. I appreciate the effort to make both modes consistent with each other, but they're too radically different from each other to have the same meta.
-
I agree. I want diffrent test for each trials.
-
Agree
-
Its stupid you guys base everything off of trials gameplay
-
Drop trials. It's become a toxic gameplay experience of elite mindsets endlessly running carries through to make money or get attention on twitch . It creates a divisive environment of people focused on stats and creating barriers of entry .
-
Cosmo: you can make everyone happy by simply separating PvP from PvE, (oh yea, let's not forget better servers). Thanks
-
Remove it, its not fun, the match making is trash, the mode has ruined PvE, its ruined weapon variety an on top of that people are scamming players for money just to go to the lighthouse.

Keep it in destiny 2. But i agree that the matchmaking should be fixed. Nobody wants their first game to be against a team on an 8 n 0 card. Would be nice if their was like a tier matchmaking or brackets so all the sweats get matched with sweats. Say if your elo and kd is gold tier then you play against gold tier teams and players. And so on for other divisions. Also can we somehow please stop all the paid carries and recoveries. Thats what really has ruined alot of people expierence in trials. Maybe im wrong but i thought that was against the code of conduct anyway but i could be wrong.
