Tbh I don't care either way.
However trials will definitely be in D2.
Trals is what keeps the game up on twitch which is basically free advertising, it's also what keeps the game alive, many players only continue to play destiny once the newest raid has gotten old (usually 1 1/2 - 2 months after release) because of that chance to go flawless - it's an end goal that's harder then any other destiny activity and is what keeps players grinding on it.
I see the anti trials posts each week, especially after the weekend, I highly doubt anything about it is changing in D2.
I see the anti trials posts each week, especially after the weekend, I highly doubt anything about it is changing in D2.
Bungie sees them too. They also see the people that: 1. Don't play or played their 5 cards the record book. 2. Don't like the format of best vs the rest 3. Have never or rarely get to 5 wins. These add up to alot of people. They'd be fools if they didn't try a new format to better entice a higher percentage of players each week.

Which they might consider - if trials wasn't built around the premise of top tier players succeed - trials draws the most viewers on twitch and they'd be fools to try and mess with that system

Those players have voted with their time and aren't playing, they see and understand their role in the mode, and they're not happy about it. No one likes being cannon fodder, and there's too many people who will never possess the skill to go flawless or even get 5/7 wins with any consistency, no matter how hard or how long they practice.
trials draws the most viewers on twitch and they'd be fools to try and mess with that system
If Twitch is that influential on the Trials population, I'd hate to see the numbers if Twitch/YT wasn't around, considering its played by maybe 15% of the active playerbase. And sales derived from Twitch views are negligible. They wouldn't be losing much if Trials changed formats, aside from claiming their Twitch popularity. Reviews are still underwhelming and word of mouth still has a bad taste. They'd actually be fools to leave Trials as is. It's format is genuinely disliked by the majority, and Bungie would be better served reformatting it to accommodate a greater range of players. Don't get me wrong. Trials can be fun when the competition is close. And I do believe that upper players need/should have an endgame or some sort of in-game competitive scene and the sense of exclusivity that comes with it. I, and many others, feel this way. We also know there are better ways to achieve these for the sake of everyone.
