I think they should just rework it a bit. Something like 5 tiers (5 being the worst 1 being the best) the people in 5 are matched against people in 5 for all their matches but have lesser rewards, the people in 1 match against others in 1 but have the best rewards.
With players of different ranks on the same team they are put in the rank of the best player on the team.
I feel this would keep the spirit of trials being a competitive "best of the best" type thing, while also not alienating the "just ok" crowd.

you got it backwards. higher tier better rewards. as you raise tier your rewards improve in quality. they need to eliminate carries. they need dedicated servers.

That's what I said. You would start at 5 and work up to 1 instead of starting at 1 and working to 5. Either way same thing.

no cause as you raise tier (get better) your weapons will too. some will just raise tier faster with consistent high kills/wins. it's possible to get better. winning is harder though because of carries, weapon imbalance, connection issues etc. if it was fair it'd be easier to win and get loot
