Interesting Vex Theory...
You may or may not have seen this in one of my comments, but I have come to see what the lore community thinks.
I believe that the vex are not from any reality or concept that we can comprehend. As we know there are Infinite universes each with infinite realities. But what if the vex are from the space between them, so they in essence don't exist. Imagine each universe/reality is a room, instead of being confined in the room the vex are in a doorway. That is how they draw power from nothing (let's just call it the doorway); they control all concepts of physics and time in between these realities, and try to push their power into our world. The Vault of Glass is like a little bubble of the "doorway" and that's why they are like gods in there. Now Crota, acting stupid accidentally rips a hole into the "doorway" instead of to another place in our reality. The vex not knowing our concepts of time, space, and physics, start to learn. They see the darkness first and believe it is the most powerful. And we all know the rest.

8 RepliesIf the vex control all concepts of physics and time inside of the "doorway", and the vault of glass is a "doorway", then how come we can still kill the vex when they are in the vault of glass? They could bend physics and time to their advantage and destroy any guardian they wanted to. I think that your theory is a great one and this is the only hole in your theory.

This theory is completely false. The Vex figured out a way to become powerful by worshipping the worms with out introducing the worms to themselves (hence why we see Vex worshipping the Heart) and the Vault of Glass is where they experiment with the powers, but they cannot manifest them outside of the Vault. There are a few videos on YouTube covering this topic.

The Vex are microorganisms who cant exist in our universe without a vessel, whether mechanical or organic. Radiolaria vs Midochlorians.

Oryx sealed that wound by moving his throne. When Oryx was seeking the Harmony Gift Mast, he came across the Harmonious Flotilla Invincible in our universe, which was protecting the Nicha Thought-ship. Oryx hoped to find the location of the Mast from the Nicha, instead he found Quria onboard, who was waiting to trap him. Whether the Harmonious Flotilla are Vex vessels or Harmony vessels isn't clear, but what is clear is that the Vex had a way into our universe. There's also the description of the Vex Line Rifle [quote]Like the Slap Rifle, the Line Rifle is a terminal weapon, although its source is much more energetic. Some believe the weapon pulls material from the accretion disk of a galactic singularity.[/quote] Some believe it is powered by the accretion disk of a singularity, if so then it is powered by something that exists in a universe, something that is based on physics and physical laws. Coincidentally that is the very thing that protects Harmony, near where Oryx encounters the Vex Quria in our universe. From BoS XLV [quote] HARMONY. 16 RepliesWhat if the Vex are future incarnations of our own evolution. Mankind evolves into a collective energy race millions of years in the future. Decides to time travel to orchestrate changes needed in our own past, at key points in time, to make positive changes for our future selves I/E: The Vex. Why we are able to beat beings who already know the future? Because they let us.

A theory I have is that the Vex are like sentries who watch over time itself, and they are some form of Time Police tracking down the Stranger and possibly the Traveler. Given all it's done before, I wouldn't be surprised if the Traveler could time travel to escape the Darkness.
