Why do people act surprised about dlcs being bundled into the price of the core game when bungie does it like it's some kind of unheard of practice? practically every big game release these days does this in some shape or form

From what I understand Destiny was a 6 year project. How much content do you think you will get for a 2 year pushed out product compared to vanilla? -
There are far far worse games than destiny that share this dlc practice it's like the gaming norm now to assume when a game comes out stuff will be held back or out of the game so that they can use it as a preorder bonus or as paid dlc.. destiny did not start this trend

No they didn't start it, but seem to be pushing it's limmits. IMO it doesn't look good for the future of this game in terms of the amount of content for the pices of it. -
I think core game content for vanilla was fine albeit the story wasn't great but in terms of normal hours put into a game for playing the campaign one time through destiny is on par with a majority of other big name titles. As far as dlc goes other companies when releasing map packs for shooters generally charge the same amount as what the dark bellow and house of wolves cost which also had additional multi-player maps along side the new weapons and armor and story missions.

Yeah remember activision charges for 5 pvp maps in COD. Thats a sad deal there and at nearly the same cost
-
They do it after they have shown what's in the real game. If they announce this far out. It's just cut content.

Edited by RumpleBluntskin: 4/28/2017 12:12:04 AMNo it isn't but that's my opinion. I hope you have the same issue with movies when they release a base version of the movie and a more expensive one with bonus features which is typically not a known quantity at the time of announcement. If you don't, then you're a hypocrite. What I'm saying is, EVERY GAME you have ever purchased or will purchase has had additional content that either will make a game or won't. Choose not to be selectively offended. And for the record, I don't care enough about this subject so no internet arguments are necessary or will be responded to.

Doubt it, you're using one scenario of a messed up development for destiny 1 and using it to support your theory for destiny 2, it's common for a company to release dlc even days after their game has come out or even along side their game
