As in "nobody will buy it"? or "I intend to bitch about it constantly as well"?
As in "nobody will buy it"? or "I intend to bitch about it constantly as well"?
Just because you buy something it doesn't mean it's worth the money. -
I agree. And just because you don't like it or think it's trash doesn't make it a flop. Transformers films suck in my opinion. They can in no way be considered a flop. As an example.

It has it's things that gamers like about it, but as far as a complete game and story that's a whole different story. -
Bungie has not failed, they just can't keep up with unrealistic deadlines and quotas that activism has set. Bungie is not driving the bus, they are only mitigating the damage that activism has crashed them into.

It's not Activision's falt that Bungie chopped up the game before it was released. To blame one and not the other knowing it's both that have their part in all this is unreasonable. -
That was all on Activision. They didnt like the game being fantasy so it was changed completely and then thrown together rapidly

Bungie didn't have the content created. Y1 you had the base game and 2 expansions. Y2 one expansion that was stretched out for an entire year. Y3 a Half expansion being stretched out for an entire year. Bungie bit off more then they can chew and that's why 2 other companies are helping Bungie. D2 is a 2 year project. Knowing Bungie didn't have the content created and needs to meet their deadlines. If I we were you, I'd look up on what happens with Bungie if they don't meet this deadline. -
You've clocked over 75 days of gameplay and what did it cost 150? 200? Do the math You only paid 11 cents an hour to play their full game. 3 dollars a month? Can't even play an online subscription game for that price. 3 dollars a month for 3 years? 108 dollars? The ratio of gameplay to cost for you is fantastic. $1 : 10 hours of gameplay. Sounds like a successful game to me.

Sounds like a successful game to me.
I'm sorry, but time does amont to quantity or quality content. Time spent in a game like this is more time chasing an RNG illusion that you need most weapons or all top weapons to compete anything in this game. The fact is, no one needs the top weapons or max light in this game to complete ( anything ) in this game leaving nothing to to in this game but grind for an illusion...
The "I need"
My time was y1 and I did pay close to $200 between the base game and The taken wallet. You say $200 in a years period was worth the lack of content in this game. I'd say that illusion has taken hold of you big time. And this little statistics on cents playing a game doesn't mean diddly-squat when I can play Warframe for free with more content that was created better with a complete story. I stopped playing this over priced game that majorly lacks in content, consistency, no sense of direction, no story, no foundation to even began to build and move from there that this company has to wipe everything out so they can start all over again. You know what's interesting? It took Bungie 6 years to create Destiny. What the hell do you think they can possibly offer as a full complete game and story knowing D2 is just a 2 year project? Might want to think about that. -
Ya and call of duty has turned out a game every year for over a decade, and people still buy it. That game has been recycled garbage since the first black ops. Why are they successful? Marketing and the overall gameplay is fun and addicting. And your right about destiny the grind was an illusion, but for me I didn't care about the story, I enjoyed the gameplay, missions and having a sense of open world game play, although that too was an illusion. But bungie has given the community what they wanted, ppl bitched about how difficult it was to max their light, destiny added infusing, ppl didn't like the original infusion process, bungie changed it. Ppl were crying about geting items that were not better or maxed light from raids and activities, bungie changed it. Crucible sandbox is another thing, but. Bungie gave ppl what they wanted. So the community is partly to blame. Yes it took them 6 years but the game went on for 3. Average development time is 18-24 months for a game. So yes 6 years for content released over 3 years is about right. Call of duty releases a game every year for a campaign beatable in a single sit down of 1-2 hours and the same multiplayer with a couple new maps and features. Then they sell you the old maps from the previous games. They mix the genre and time periods up and sub out to different developers so the game Doesn't have to follow a story line. If you compare destiny to COD franchise, destiny is doing a fine job. When was the last time COD franchise had open dialog with its gaming community?
Ya and call of duty has turned out a game every year for over a decade, and people still buy it. That game has been recycled garbage since the first black ops. Why are they successful? Marketing and the overall gameplay is fun and addicting.
All COD games are just PvP that is nothing but a pushed out product and mostly kids and teens buy it. Not a strong argument knowing most kids and teens don't buy games for quality or quantity content. They buy off of hype and nothing else, oooh! Look at the pretty light... Just like a bug flying into a bug zapper.
And your right about destiny the grind was an illusion, but for me I didn't care about the story, I enjoyed the gameplay, missions and having a sense of open world game play, although that too was an illusion. But bungie has given the community what they wanted,
Well the difference is, a lot do care about a story, it adds content to a game and when you don't and keep with the concept of a game. You get a pushed out product that makes no sense and is treated like COD content. Bungie has given what the "community wanted" Since when does the community speak for the entire world that has paid and played this game?
ppl bitched about how difficult it was to max their light, destiny added infusing, ppl didn't like the original infusion process, bungie changed it. Ppl were crying about geting items that were not better or maxed light from raids and activities, bungie changed it.
Did ya ever think knowing this company has been in business for over 25 years that they didn't know what they were doing when they changed things? Ttk is a prime example knowing Bungie only added one expansion for an entire year. How else were they going to stretch it out other then making their deliberate poor choices that gamers bitched about for ( 7 ) months straight before Bungie gave that 320 hand out update. What was funny about that update. Again the gullible bought into it and acted as if Bungie was "improving" this game. -
I do agree with you, there has always been a road map that bungie was following. But in all fairness, ttk was the biggest expansion offering the largest new patrol area, new missions and not recycled missions with different objectives, and a great raid in my opinion. So I don't feel gypped for only one expansion in year 2. But your right they developed all the content over 6 years and then just fed it too the community over 3 years and based on community opinion made adjustments and false improvement accusations that kept the "gullible community" happy. (Ex ghally icebreaker). I don't approve of everything that has happened throughout the past 3 years, but it was still a great game with one of the strongest social communities for a console game. The community the game has built is priceless in itself. I have made more online friends from playing destiny then any other xb1 game. Every game is going to have its faults and the bigger picture is they are a business and they are going to squeeze every penny they can from it. The house always wins. So the real question, do you want to be rode hard and put away wet, or wined and dined before they fuk you. I usually don't bother myself with these arguments because I really don't care. I make enough to throw away money on the occasional games and if it's a flop it's a flop. There are bigger things in life than arguing about video games because you know what, we are no more than a microscopic organizism to these guys and why bother getting upset? If you don't like it, don't play, if the story sucks, go to the next game with another bad story. Creativity now a days in games is almost non existent, it's all regurgitated plagiarized content. So demanding great content for a fair price doesn't exist. Over this, good day. In all fairness the amount of lore they offered is more extensive then any recent syfi games on the market. It's not a novel but better than most.

Edited by Rocker 782: 4/29/2017 10:44:05 AMI'm just gonna debate the first part of your reply and say that new patrol area is probably not the largest even compared to the vanilla games one. It probably feels that way because they don't let us drive a sparrow around and we were stuck walking around it. And the dlc can't be considered that large when the first two were absolutely microscopic in content. Especially when it was basically confirmed the areas were in the game from the beginning.
-
Good point about the sparrow, didn't think of that.

They are just following the status quo. They have the justify the costs by making as much money as they can in the shortest amount of time. You say 6 years? Ok how many employees you think worked on the game over 6 years. Everyone has to get paid. And they do what they have to do to make the most money without hopefully making the consumer feel cheated ( i.e. Expansions, in game purchases) there is so much going on behind closed doors that we don't know about, no one is really in the position to judge, at least not the people enjoying their game. Did you like the game? Did you have some epic moments? Are you still playing it?
