LoZ BoTW
Can we all agree that this game is already going to win GOTY and its only been out for a month. The game is amazing. I have easily sunk about 150 hours into it and thats working and maintaining a family. Besides OOT this is one of my favorite Zelda games. For those of you who have played it, what do guys like about the game? What part frustrates y'all the most? How far are you in the game?

Both of them are exemplary titles that represent the absolute best of their respective genres, and are overflowing with passion and love for the medium. Personally, I'd put Persona 5 ahead, but that's mainly because of my love of RPGs; I would be perfectly fine with either taking the title.

Lol at all the haters, they just can't stand the thought of it being one of the greatest games of all time. Game is everything I hoped it would be since that first reveal in 2013 (I think it was in 2013) Easily GoTY unless, another game comes out that tops it (which I seriously doubt)

Don't know if it's game of the year, but it's definitely better than horizon zero dawn

9 RepliesFor all the people talking about its flaws. Yes it has flaws. The dungeons aren't really dungeons. The bosses are less intricate and more about implementing the regular combat into a difficult encounter. And yes the voice acting isn't very good aside from a select few. That doesn't ruin the game. The dungeons were not the main focus of this game and every highly praised games have major flaws. But the very core experience is so strong I believe it's the best game this gen and one of the best of all time. I went into this year believing Andromeda would be my GOTY. Ended up falling in love with BOTW even more than my previous favorite Twilight Princess. This makes up so much for Skyward Sword.

Can't agree. Forgettable bosses, forgettable dungeons. Lame music for a Zelda title. Horizon Zero Dawn was better.

Edited by MENACEvAC: 4/23/2017 5:13:43 PMI know getting shiny new badass weapons and watching them break sucks. but this has forced me to use my abilities and everything else at my disposal in the game to achieve my goals. They've essentially freed us from our weapons by making them break. do you know what my main use for my Master sword is? cutting down trees and breaking rocks for ore. most powerful sword in the Known World using it to break rocks and cut firewood. Lol. I love this game

I was actually pretty disappointed with the lack of mechanics in the game's bosses. They were a lot less interesting than the other games. It was cool how puzzles had multiple solutions, though.

It was most enjoyable from start to finish. Nintendo did open world exploration right by letting you make every discovery on your own, and new discoveries are seemingly around every corner of the map. The durability mechanic is done well too, when a weapon shatters; there's another nearby. I find it discourages me from using high-end gear though; dragon bone clubs are a dime a dozen; ancient swords are much harder to come by. So I only use them on "special occasions" (meaning, almost never). But that's just how it is. I beat the game a month ago, but I can see myself going back to it.

5 RepliesI agree that LoZ BoTW will probably win game of the year since it's an obvious masterpiece in game design. Having said that, it's not my favourite game this year ( Horizon: Zero Dawn is ). Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good game, heck maybe even a great one, it's just not my type of game. I have issues with open world games, I love linearity and structure. BoTW is game where you have to make your own fun. I'm still in the early stages of it ( just left the Great Plains, haven't gotten to Karriko Viilage yet, 1 health upgrade, 1 stamina upgrade, 20 Korok seeds ), my biggest issue is weapon durability. I get why this game has weapon durability, I just wish it wasn't so severe in the early stages of the game, I also wish that there was a metre/number/or durability metre so I could tell how fragile each weapon is when I'm equipping it.
