Could Destiny pull off a Monthly Subscription Plan?

So yeah the age old question could Destiny lean more on an MMO style and become a monthly subscription model? Some people will think this is a far-fetched idea and not wise because it would just be a constant money grab. Well I want to compare this to another "console" MMO that is using a monthly subscription based system. FFXIV currently has a monthly $12.99 payment requirement to play the game after your first initial purchase of the game. Now let's look at its content schedule for patches. Roughly every three months there is an update that increases the amount of gear in the game, adds 2 dungeons, more main story content to keep the ball rolling, hard modes added to old dungeons, and a new raid. On top of that there are also in between patches that help the games economy out to lessen end game grinding after the initial releases of new high end gear. Now I want to see if perhaps the Destiny franchise could look at this idea as a possibility to its future. Basically, Destiny has had two types of "expansions" so far. There has been standard expansions like House of Wolves, Rise of Iron, and Dark Below. These are moderately sized expansions that added a raid a strike or two and sometimes a playable new area. Notice the similarity to FFXIV and where it lies. These are updates that don't split up the community because they are set up as instead game updates every three months. What if we got House of Wolves or Rise of Iron update sizes every three months as part of our subscription to the game? What about the Taken King though? TTK was an exception to the expansion model where it was argueably from a MMO stand point a true expansion in size. It added new subclasses, new gameplay mechanics, a large amount of extra content that was game changing to the flow of the game. Now this expansion is similar to that of FFXIV Heavensward expansion. Heavensward was sold as an expansion to the game for $40 similiar to that of the Taken King, but it also released during Year 2 of the game, again similar to Destiny. So my question is this: Would you mind if Destiny 2 or let's say 3 had a monthly subscription model? Every three months there would be standard game updates that are similar in size to Rise of Iron, however there would be Taken King sized expansion sold every year or two years that bring about major gameplay changes like new classes or subclasses? Leave your thoughts and let's discuss.
