Alright, here is how it would work. 1. All non-quest items and weapons can be traded. For a Destiny 1 reference, this means NO Swords, NO Outbreak Prime, and NO Chaperone exotics. There are more "Quest" items but I'm only giving a few examples. Just go and see all weapons, items, and items you'd get that are 100% important to the story (rarity doesn't matter) 2. If an Exotic is traded, no Grimoire card information is gained, and the Exotic is not saved in the Player's Kiosk until it is dropped for them again. This prevents "duplicating" weapons and armors by trading an exotic, getting it "registered", then trading it back. (Will change if the Exotic Kiosk and the Grimoire cards don't come back in Destiny 2.) 3. Trading can only take place between people on your friends list. I'm reaching for this one, but it prevents random people wanting to trade you for that "god roll" you have. Easily, it can be avoided by adding them on your friends list (which is how you invite randoms to raids on PS4), but it is still a safety net. 4. Trading resets weapon XP and unlocks. If I were to trade a friend my Bad Juju (I should have it equipped, look at my Hunter for reference), it would lock the ornament, unlocks I have, and the weapon's total earned XP. 5. Only Hard mode Raid Items cannot be traded with people outside of the initial Raid Group. This is kind of stupid, but if you get Vex Methloclast and you have it, I want it. Being OP in Crucible is my number 1 goal, so if you can help me Raid teammate, that'd be awesome. All this is subject to change, and it's only an idea of what could happen.
