There's only that 1% that care about 25% better graphics to play 3rd party games on. 99% of people aren't going to buy the Scorpio just to play third part games better.

  • That's a random number you pulled out of your ass. The Scorpio is has at least double the hardware graphical power of the Xbox One. Actual output or performance wise it's more. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others don't.

  • I never said it wasn't 10× better than the one. Just saying it's not a huge leap from the pro. And of course it's a random number. Just trying to prove my point that most won't buy it just to play the same games at better graphics. Most people don't care about graphics lol.

  • Hardware wise? It's a huge leap from the Pro. 4k assets, native 4k on ultra settings, 60fps, etc. Performance wise it outshines the Pro more than the hardware would suggest.

  • Graphics aren't that much better. Of you look at specs side by side it doesn't destroy the pro.

  • It does. The pro could never ever get close to running Forza 6 the way the pro has. I underlined 4k assets because that's a huge point. The Pro can render in CB 4k and occasionally native 4k but the textures and skyboxes are never in 4k. The Scorpio has 4k assets so not only will it run better resolution at better framerate than the Pro but it runs the textures in the game at 4k.

  • And from what I understand from the video ( correct me if I'm wrong) that the games that don't run 4k won't be boosted to it like the pros boost mode. So witcher 3 since it's only at 900p on xb1 won't be able to run at 4k 60fps because it has to be atleast 1080 for it to be upped to 4k. But I might have misunderstood that part

  • If they support unlocked res and framerate or they reoptimize you'll see a difference. If it runs at 900p and locks itself to 900p (which big games don't really) then you won't see an increase when the console very easily could.

  • So will I be able to play witcher 3 at 4k or will the have to make a new wither 3 game for it?

  • They will update the game to be optimized for the Scorpio if you have one. Do you even know what you're talking about or how this works?

  • No that's why I asked lol. I didn't know if I would have to buy a new witcher 3(I would if I had to) to play it at 4k. But I do know numbers. That's why I said side by side with specs the numbers aren't that far off from each other on pro and Scorpio.

  • The pro doesn't magically increase frame rates or textures. It upscales to CB 4k. That's it. If you want higher res or higher frame rates than the game was designed for, it'll need a patch no matter what the system is. It wouldn't matter for the pro, though. Because it wouldn't come close to 4k 60fps on anything. Tons of games will at the very least have their fps unlocked with a patch on day one of the Scorpio release.

  • That still doesn't change my original statement that the Scorpio is only 30% better than the pro lol. Not a massive difference like everybody said it would be. I've seen c/b 4k on the pro and true native 4k at ultra settings side by side on a 4k monitor and the difference is not as noticeable as people think it is

  • It's obvious to me. Regardless, the difference between 4k @60 fps and upscaled CB 4k @30 fps is massive. Also, it's important to note that not just resolution and fps make use of graphical power. You have to consider all of the extra assets that can be loaded on the screen, higher quality textures and more of them per frame, more effects, everything. The difference will be enormous IMO, based on current information about the system.

  • Based on current info it's only a 30% jump. And the pro runs at 60 fps. Like I said the graphical difference is minimal. The power is a big jump. And not all games on the Scorpio will run at native 4k 60fps unless it's made to do so by the developers.

Do I need to say it again? The Scorpio's performance is a lot more than the hardware.

  • Yes it's a great machine but in terms of performance it really doesn't just destroy the ps4. I looked at the numbers again and I was wrong. It's not 25% better it's more around 32% better

  • I would like to see where you think you're getting these numbers from. The Pro could never get close to running Forza at native 4k, perfect 60fps, ultra settings, with 4k textures, and only using 66% of the GPU.

  • Look at the specs side by side. It's literally 32% difference

  • Should I say it for a forth time? Performance. It performs at a way higher level than the specs would ever suggest. Richard Leadbetter hit that point on the head. The Xbox team has fine tuned the Scorpio so tightly that it performs and outputs like nothing we could have expected.

  • Do I need to say it again? No matter how it performs the graphics will still only be about 25% higher lol. I'm not worried about performance as much as graphics.

  •
No matter how it performs the graphics will still only be about 25% higher lol.
This isn't true at all. The Forza test is proof of that. Xbox is getting way more out of said 32% increase (which is more than you're letting on) than any console upgrade before it.
I'm not worried about performance as much as graphics.
You have no idea what you're talking about do you?

  • C/b 4k and native 4k is just a jump in res. Like I said about 30%.

  • Right but your not understanding what I'm saying lol. The pro spec to Scorpio spec isn't a huge difference. And if you listen to the video which I'm sure you did not all games will run to 4k 60 fps unless made to do so. If a game is capped at 30fps 1080 then that's what it will run at. Yes it does do native 4k on some games but some games will be c/b 4k. I get where your coming from and from a power perspective yes Scorpio kills it but side by side it's not really as big a difference as it was made out to be. Somebody posted the specs side by side early on the forums. If my phone wasn't almost dead and I was at home I'd look for it to show you.

Of course there will be some games that can't hit native 4k or 60fps. Turn 10 are gods of optimization so not all devs can be help to their level. That being said if a game has to be run on checkerboard or dynamic on Scorpio it will still be an insane increase from whatever the game had to run on on PS4 and Xbox One. I understand the specs are a 40% increase. Not only is that a big jump but the architecture and tuning of the Scorpio will get way more than a 40% increase from the PS4 or Xbox One.
