I was taught this in grade school.

I was also taught cursive writing, penmanship,
and the diagramming of sentences.
Most people nowadays can't even construct a coherent
sentence, let alone be bothered with grammar and punctuation.
I thank the catholic school nuns who thought me,
and I shudder at what today's public schools pass off as education.
