It's brilliant. We get a look at drool worthy hardware to get us excited about buying it. No mention of gameplay performance. No mention of price. Pure hype!

What makes you think we won't get gameplay or a price?
What makes you think we won't get gameplay or a price?
Microsoft's goal with this preview is get folks lusting after the hardware and excited to buy it at any price. Because showing the awesome 4K gameplay will make the Xbox One S and its games look like crap, and Microsoft needs to keep hyping the Xbox One S and its games through E3. Then there is the reverse problem of the performance basically being better looking Xbox One S games, and nothing revolutionary like you might see in a new console generation. In an era of $200 consoles, the price will no doubt be a downer for many, and hence a further reason to hold off on announcing the price until the console is closer to launch. Think of this like the shark in the movie "Jaws". The less you see of it, the better it is.

That's a lot of assumptions.
-
This ain't my first product launch rodeo. Doubt it's your first either.
-
No it's not. That doesn't change that those are a lot of assumptions. Microsoft has no reason for the Scorpio not to deliver.
-
If you saw Eurogamer's coverage this morning you'll know the only footage they saw was a Forza demo made for the Scorpio and Microsoft wouldn't release the price. Like I said, this is all part of Microsoft's hype train. Next station is E3. Consider this one to grow on.
-
I'd have to see it.

Not to toot my own horn but I was right in everything I said.

Seeing as all you did was post a link to Digital Foundry's tweet and then argue with people about whether we'd see a price or game play (which we didn't), I wouldn't put too much of your precious energy into tooting that horn of yours. It's also been 10 months since Microsoft told us that Scorpio would hit 6 teraflops, so the spec sheet isn't a shocking revalation. But hey, Microsoft got a lot of hype out of this stunt and you helped, so give yourself a nice pat on the back.
-
I haven't been talking to you recently but I called the specs and performance. Don't get caught up on that. It's a fact that the thing is beastly.
