Update: It Was Just a Promotional Art Error

Edit: Looks like is was just a mistake in the promotional art! The corrected art is now displayed here. Click here for the original image. In it, you can see a second Traveler in the background. That has since been removed in the corrected version, as shown above. Mistakes like this happen. No big deal! My personal take on this: As far as I can tell, this was just a small slip up. The base image seems to be the current Destiny's City skyline as viewed from the Tower. I'm guessing they used a high quality image of that and then edited over top of it so that the City in the promotional image was resemblant of what we're all familiar with, down to the street layout. Because of this, the Traveler's position would be what we're familiar with as well, so it was mistakenly not edited out. Additionally, I don't believe Bungie made these promotional pictures, but I could be wrong. They look to be in the same styling as a secondary company that Bungie and ActiVision have partnered with for different cinematics and such. (I'm leaving them unnamed on purpose because angry gamers tend to become an angry mob all too quickly.) Still, I think we can all agree that the images are gorgeous. Let's wait for Bungie to make an official word on this, but otherwise, as DeeJ said in the linked Tweet, keep speculating and have fun with this! I know a lot of you weren't here for all the speculation on D1 before it came out. Those were some of my fondest memories of this community. Let's keep things civil, though.
