When Bungie first took away (Didn't allow them to carryover) the raid elemental primaries in Y2 the reasoning was they were the only weapons being used. Destiny had "so many great guns that no one is using because everyone is using the raid weapons for the burns." "We don't want you to be using the same weapon in Y3 as you had in Y1, otherwise we've failed." I'm paraphrasing, of course. But that's the just that was handed out over the years on "This week at Bungie." Elemental primaries don't disrupt anything in the sandbox, except give guardians as slight advantage performing end game activities. I.E. raids, and nightfalls. Further, with debuffs like match game and ironclad, these advantages are stripped down to almost nonexistent. So the only problem is that Bungie wants the community to continuously search for your next favorite weapon. Which is all great. I like new toys. But no need to take away special raid weapons or elemental burns on primaries. What I'd like to see is a rare item that as the chance to drop as a reward for end game activities. Kinda like the crux of crota, but not that rare. Nightfalls, raid bosses, trails, Iron Banner top rank, all end game challenges. This item could them be used at the gunsmith for one of two things. Any weapon + special item + probably gilmer and marks = choose to re roll perks, or burn. Burn can come in kinetic, solar, arc, and void. Adjust the rarity of this new item's drop rate based on how they deemed it necessary to maintain the balance of overflowing and once in a life time. Still have cool raid weapons that are effective for the raids like TTK and ROI raid weapons with no burn. Maybe even the rare chance to drop Primary weapons with burns. The idea here would bring back a cool aspect of the HOW DLC, along with elemental primaries, and constantly being able to find new weapons to love. A new chapter of Destiny drops with new gear, find what you want, and fine tune it to be a beast of your own design. This new item would give people something to grind for, like the old raid weapons, but be achievable through all end game paths and make your favorite weapons and gear even more custom and special to you. #feedback #destiny #raid #weapons #loot #weapon #gear #elements #elementalprimaries
