Timeline of the Vex Mythoclast

Timeline of Changes to the Vex Mythoclast: How It Became the Weapon It Is Today This has all of the patches and hot fixes that have impacted the Mytho in some fashion, with dates and links to the official patch notes from B.net. It's an interesting read, seeing how it's evolved over the years. Enjoy: (Nov 14 2014) Vex Mythoclast * Base Damage decreased by 34% * Increased Precision Damage multiplier from 1.25 -> 1.50 (headshot bonus) https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=12283&transparent=true (Dec 1 2014) Vex Mythoclast * Attack Power increased to 323 (from 300)
* Base Damage increased, fixing bug we introduced in previous patch
* Enhanced Battery upgrade by Extended Mag (this change still allows for a significant upgrade to Magazine Size, but less than before) https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=12433&transparent=true (Feb 25 2015) That time they said they'd fix the ammo and bloom bug (2 years ago): * Bug was introduced in 1.1.1 patch that caused the Vex Mythoclast to spawn with less ammo in the magazine and reserves in PvP
* This weapon was affected by overall Fusion Rifle changes because it is treated as a secondary weapon * We intend to correct this issue in a future release [<-- still yet to happen] https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=12607&transparent=true (May 13 2015) * Fixed an issue in which Vex Mythoclast was not respawning with primary ammunition https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=12887&transparent=true (Sept 8 2015 - TTK release) Changes to fusion rifles that also affect the Mytho: Fusion Rifles * Fusion Rifles now no longer get more accurate with each projectile fired * Fusion Rifles that are slow charging, high impact now have a slightly lower base Range value, making it harder to max out range for these weapons * Accuracy increased for low range Fusion Rifles; Accuracy reduced for high range Fusion Rifles * Max Fusion Rifle projectile speed decreased slightly * Damage done against AI combatants increased by 15% https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=13474&transparent=true (Dec 8 2015) More fusion changes: Fusion Rifles * Increased Charge Speed on fast charging Fusion Rifles. Reduce burst damage to compensate
* Fusion rifles behave more predictably based on player state
* Reduced Hip Fire Stability for all fusions * Increased ADS and Crouched Stability for all fusions * Reduction in carried inventory for all fusion rifles
* 10% increase to PvE damage bonus to offset https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=14094&transparent=true (Apr 12 2016) Guess what: Fusion Rifles * Increased Stability base stat (40% recoil reduction); this means that lower stability Fusion Rifles will get affected more than higher stability rifles
* Fixed bug where some outlying fusion rifle scopes had unintended increased zoom that was removed in Year Two.  https://www.bungie.net/Mobi/en/About/News?id=44609&transparent=true (No further changes impacting the Vex to this day) All of these changes have culminated in the Vex Mythoclast becoming the weapon it is today, an inaccurate, low range, unreliable gun with solar damage and a sleek design being its only redeeming factors. It is a shell, a husk of its former self. I'd suggest reverting it to its Dec 1 2014 state or close to it, with the bugs fixed on it. It was balanced then, and doesn't deserve to be a terrible as it is now. It's a fan favourite, don't let it become another weapon to simply collect dust in our vaults Bungie!
