For those that have never been to the Lighthouse,
I doubt Bungie will try fixing this anyway. After months of trying to get to the Lighthouse via getting a carry from streamers (raffles) or putting a group of my own it seems inevitable that most of us will never get there. By no way am I bashing the pros or better players. I would like to get there at least once in my life just to have that grimoire card. With that being said it seems that if and when you try going into Trials with your own group after you get a couple wins your basically matching against the really good players and you hit the wall. Thus this stops you in your tracks. In my observation when lfging people that wanted to play I would find out people were trying there hardest to get to the lighthouse and when I wasn't good enough to there standards they would play a few games and just want to leave. I give them the heads up that I'm not the greatest player in Trials. Also that I've never been to the Lighthouse. I do have my moments to where I have my good games. If you look at my stats I know they aren't the best. I play just to have fun. Also for the challenge of getting achievements and showing that I accomplished that feet.
So my question is why not make it to where matching is based on a K/D, ELO or something along those lines so that people can enjoy things again. And have better chances of getting to things like the Lighthouse. It worked for Halo so why can't it work for Destiny.

2 RepliesHey man, my 2 cents on the matter: It’s not impossible. But it is very, very hard. I personally like the win based matchmaking. I think it’s fair and exciting to play against a team that has the same number of wins on the card… when it works of course, because this weekend a team stomped us on their Lighthouse match when we only had 4 wins ¿? I am not a pro, and not the best player, but I am Lighthouse worthy and have been there a few times. How? I have a few recommendations if you allow me: 1- Ideally, it’s good to play frequently with the same team. If your teammate’s skill is at your level or slightly better, great. All three must be motivated. 2- Go together most of the time and keep the communication going. Together enough to team-shot opponents, but not so close that you all eat a Nova Bomb ;) 3- Staying alive is more important than getting a kill. If you are not certain you will win a gunfight, back off and find cover. You will be useless to your team if you’re dead, but if you’re alive you can still get a kill later. 4- When you turn corners or enter doorways, ALWAYS slide/jump/shadestep. Not because it looks cool, but because you are most likely to survive. 5- Don’t do the same thing on every round, even if you’re winning. 6- Never give up. And while you keep trying, enjoy yourself. Even if you never get there, remember the journey is worth it. I get your frustration. It took us 20 weeks to reach the Lighthouse. And I have reached the 8th win for the last six weeks in a row, having terrible luck in the last match… But I’ll keep going. PS: I even made this to celebrate our first Flawless. I hope one day you can do the same. Good luck! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkgF0vS_XMI
