Going through the crawl of 399 to 400
My Titan is getting closer and closer to 400, only needing a 400 ghost shell and heavy. It's agonizing when the elements are against you, though. Pretty much almost every exotic engram and elite bounty that I've redeemed has been 399, except a few. Skeleton Keys have been rewarding, though. I would go to the raid, but I have no friends. Was it easier for you? What did you do, mostly?
Update: my Titan has achieved light level 400! And she looks like a monster bwahaha! Now for the other two. Have a 396 Warlock and 398 Hunter. I'll just pick up gear on my Titan and transfer, I guess.
Update update: Hunter is in 400 club! You're next, Warlock.

Now my Hunter has joined the 400 club! My Warlock is gonna need a little more, at 397, now, but I'll gather his goods with my Hunter tonight when I got to farm Skeleton Keys and hopefully complete the Nightfall.

Just play Iron Banner and you'll hit 400 in no time.

I was in the same boat last weekend on PS4. Luckily I was saving exotic engrams from the beginning. I stuck around the forge for a few 400 ghosts. Then decrypted my heavy exotic engrams. Once my main was done I burned through a few more exotic engrams as infusion fuel for my other characters.

Forge for ghosts is the best way I think.

Archon's Forge ghost shell. Fall Saber for Baron's Ambition

Crucible mostly, then strike chests when I had keys to spare. And at the end playing trials to lose and hopefully still get good rewards
