I think this is funny as shit. This is essentially going to destroy GameStop. I hope all you console players don't buy games there.

Only go there when the local stores are out of Microsoft points. I have never bought a game from there
-
Only pre owned Pokémon games

Might see a price increase on those due to this subscription deal. I would imagine to keep from losing money GameStop might increase the price on pre owned games. Sure it'll still be cheaper than new but more expensive than they used to be.

GameStop can't increase prices. This is why they started diversifying years ago. Best Buy and Amazon offer 20% off new games while Best Buy compounds the discount with sales plus price match. Only an utter moron or a parent relies on GameStop as their main provider for videogames.
Only an utter moron or a parent relies on GameStop as their main provider for videogames.
I gotta ask. Why? I play PC so I don't shop there anyway but I would like to know some reasoning behind what you've said.

Well, as I just said, Best Buy and Amazon offer 20% off games with their memberships. That's $12+tax off every new release. Best Buy goes further and offers 20% off every game. So if a game is on sale for $40, it's now $32. Plus, Best Buy has price match guarantee and better return policies. If you're a big spender at Best Buy, Elite/Elite Plus offer amazing perks. As an example, I got FFXV at launch for $24+tax with a free $10 gift certificate. That's an extreme example of what can happen. I don't hate GameStop, but shopping at Best Buy has saved me so much time and money. I still go to GameStop quite a bit, but my spending with them has decreased dramatically.
